That's disappointing. Sure you may be able to sell them easily on ebay, but it's a lot more time consuming, you get a lot less repeat buyers, and sometimes just keeping after people who have purchased from you to get them to make their payment is like pulling teeth. In the end, with used prices being what they are on ebay, half.com, and amazon market place, you won't really make any more money, you'll spend more time doing it, and you'll end up having to pay ebay a percentage on top of that. Weighing all that against just making a list and waiting for half of it to sell out in a couple days, I'd personally be in favor of dvdtalk anytime. Also, people like myself tend to trust folks on dvdtalk more, which adds to the repeat buyer syndrome. Just my opinion though, and I've sold A LOT of DVDs/Blu-rays on ebay. Good luck, whatever you decide to do. Thanks for the business.

i agree with Stonecountry. We do have some severe idiots trolling this board, but not even close to the morons you will encounter on ebay. For example, I just sold my Planet Earth HD DVD set there, cause no one wanted it here. My item description was very simple. It read: "Watched once, MINT."
I got no less than 3 messages asking about the condition of the discs and box. 2 of the questions even went so far as to state that i had not listed the condition of the item.
TS, there has been some level of BS that you have had to put up with here to be sure. But you have also had some good and loyal customers as well. You'll be missed, but i have a feeling you'll be back.
Whatever you decide to do, i wanna wish you the best of luck. Hope you come back to us soon.

Aww man, I'm gone for a day or two and I come back to make a order and they're gone.
Bollocks to the pricks that killed the goose that laid the golden eggs.
Damn you all.

Idea
Hi Charlie,
Just an idea that might help. Could you possibly start an e-mail distribution to your good buyers and just distribute e-mail updates to us with your inventory? I did this with baseball cards about 10 years ago and it worked liked a charm. Then if you get a dead beat on your distribution you just remove him or her and problem solved. I know how steep the eBay fees can be so this might be a positive solution for all of your loyal customers.
Cheers brother!

Hello everyone!
As some of you know, I've not been on the board as often as I have in the past - mostly due to managing a new baby, my business needed me to replace a couple employees due to security issues and the production of a feature I'm trying to get off the ground.
I would like to thank all the loyal members and casual customers for helping me purchase ALL of my equipment for the movie I'm working on...
Just alittle heads up to all the great guys and the sprinkle of ladies on the board here. I need more equipment, so that means...
I'M COMING BACK WITH MORE FILMS IN THE NEAR FUTURE - STAY POSTED!
(( And for the 'I guess ebay didnt work out' crowd
... I made more money selling on ebay - but the hassle from a larger sum of people I sold to on there is more ri-damn-diculous than the scale on here.
Not to mention I'd rather you guys get the deals, rather than someone who doesnt pay but as soon as I repost it they email me asking why I didnt send out more than two notices/invoices. < I've got a ton more stories along those lines...
I also enjoyed the conversations and the friendships that builded with each sale. ))
