Damn I just checked. I didn't know they were going for that high. Wonder why? Glad I got my copy for $60 back in the day.

I wouldn't go that far. But yes, some have successfully sold for more than $30. It's funny. Season one is the blond Movie Zev, instead of the the Redhead TV Xev (seasons 2,3,&4), who is a much better actress (and hotter), but I guess it must be a nostalgia thing that is making S1 more expensive.

I am willing to consider counter offers. Alternatively, if someone is in Florida I can trade for some legal advice instead (or DVD's or LDs but it would take forever to list my DVD's here, so let me know what you're looking for).

Really looking for entire seasons at once. But send e-mail with what you are looking for, if price or trade is right, I might consider....

In the last few month I haven't seen one NOT successfully sell for that so yes many are sold for more than $30.00 ... in fact many are sold for more than $230.00. I don't think it's nostalgia, it's availability. You know that whole supply and demand thing. Most other seasons vary from $25-$40 each. Good luck nonetheless.

I bought the entire series at a book/cd/dvd trader store for $45 ... it was like x-mas! Watching these prices on eBay I'm very tempted to sell it, but I just can't let go of it.

In retrospect, season 1 does seem to go for quite a bit. However, in today's digital world NO series/season (LEXX calls its seasons "series") is worth $230 (even if there are fools who will pay such). The fact that they're going for as much as they are mandates an eventual re-release one way or another.

If that mandate was true then they'd re-release SALÓ 1st edition R1 currently selling in the $800-$2000 for a single copy. Or they'd re-release Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious Women Criterion Collection, selling for around $400+/-, or others like Flash Gordon 1980 R1 WS ($50-$70), and many others. So while it would seem that commanding high prices, would mandate a re-release that does not always negate the higher price. (You can buy an Elvis all day long, try getting a 45rpm on Sun lable ... perpare to dig.) While most DVD's go down in price, but by selective collecting many go up. Predicting that is like predicting the weather.

I'd agree if people were buying to collect. But a) LEXX is being bought to see, and b) there are plenty of copies of even season 1 around. Given that the purpose is to see, not hold the dusty box, there are alternatives, therefore the price must fall or be made meaningless.

By the way, for FAR less than $100 I have all of season 1 but episode 4 (and episode 1 is the hard one).
