Just a heads-up Kyle, that Digital Eyes has this for pretty cheap at $23.97. Same w/ DeepDiscountdvd, I believe, as well? They both actually have C.C. pretty cheap right now.

Thanks Dean, ill think about that though I was more looking for a used copy for around $15ish. Evrey time I buy a dvd new these days I feel bad because I know I could proboly of waited and found it cheaper used.

Figuere this would be the place to ask this question I have?

What I'd like to know are these single or 2 disc sets please?

- M (I'm almost postive this is 2 discs, as it's the reissue?)
- Beauty & the Beast
- Haxan
- Nanook of the North (I'm pretty sure this is a single, as well?)

Also, I'm not too up on C.C. dvd's, so do alot of these come in single, as well as double editions, for the "same" title, like I saw that one Aquatic Life of Steve Zissou (?). The reason I ask is that I saw a post on dvdtalk for someone that has single editions of like Straw Dogs, and a few others, that wants to upgrade to double sets. But I thought Straw Dogs only came in a 2 disc set? This person, I believe, was from Canada though, so maybe they have single editions up there?

Anyway, any advice, answers, would be greatly appreciated? Thanks!!!

You can easily find out specifications (including number of discs) and features by visiting www.criterionco.com and clicking on "Special Features" for any title in the collection.

I saw the thread you are referring to and I can explain the confusion. The poster was not looking to upgrade his editions--he was looking to trade his 2-disc Criterions for other 2-disc Criterions. I believe the language he used was "looking for 2-disc Criterion in return" so I can understand the confusion. But what he was looking to do was, say, trade Tokyo Story (2-disc CC) for The Tin Drum (2-disc CC).

But you are right in that there are a couple (though only a couple) Criterions that exist in both 1-disc and 2-disc editions. Off the top of my head, Wages of Fear, M, The Life Aquatic. Others, like Straw Dogs, exist in 1-disc editions that are not Criterions; and still others, like Time Bandits, have 1-disc Criterion versions and 2-disc non-Criterions.

Hope that clears it up or at least doesn't add to the confusion.

It most certainly does Ilya, thanks alot. I go to the C.C. site every now & then, but didn't notice the "special features" link, as well as the others under that, in the upper left-hand corner. Again, you more than cleared it up. And it was just a bit confusing to me about how that trader listed that in his post, but it's all clear to me now!!!
