Has CH gone back to Pony Express processing and shipping for new releases?
I pre-ordered a Blu-Ray a few months ago that came out this week (Braveheart) and have yet to receive it. Just a few months ago I would receive a new release within a day or two after it hits the shelves. This has also happened to me on my last few orders. It took me almost two weeks to get my copy of Spinal Tap on Blu-Ray when I had it pre-ordered as soon as it became available.

I placed an order and added expedited shipping and the order showed up the next day by ups next day air. Also had an order placed with regular shipping and took 6 business days. I usually got them in 2-3 days so I believe something is definitely causing the shipments to arrive later than usual whether it's CH or USPS, I dunno.

Media mail is usually pretty slow unless you pay for the faster shipping. Overall though you just don't know. They could get lost in a pile of mail and take forever or it can be fast shipping.

No.. its not USPS.. its CH. They are bullshitting, not shipping out orders. I had the same issue and called them to figure out where my Braveheart and Gladiator BDs were and they told me that they were processed, but not yet shipped. When I asked them to cancel the order (so I could take advantage of a better deal), they told me that they were unable to do so, which prompted me to tell them to cancel my account instead.

CH used to be good about getting these out before or on release date. Now they sit on them for a few days before they ship them snail express. Why bother anymore?

i ordered 3 dvds (buy 1 get 2 free) back in late august and still have not received them...as of today still on "backorder"
something tells me these are not going to ship at all - i may try calling customer service in a couple of weeks when it hits the 1 month mark since i placed my order
(btw - none of these were pre-orders or even new releases for that matter)

I got my copy of Braveheart BLU a couple days ago too. Of course it looks like an 18_wheeler literally ran over it... with all 18 wheels carrying a load of steel.
I'm sure I'll get a replacement copy in a couple months...

So really crappy deals as of late, shitty shipping times and sometimes maddening customer service has me considering dropping CH for my Blu-Ray buying as more retailers are beating their deals straight up.

Me too. I used to pre-order and get the dvd on release day or at latest, the next day. Now I think they wait until release day to ship. On a related note, I get magazine subscriptions a week late now. Used to get Sports Illustrated on Thursday (4 days before cover date on the mag). Now I get it the NEXT Wed. or Thurs. Something's fishy over at USPS.

Shipping prices have gone WAY UP due to fuel costs, so most companies will ship the cheapest way possible if they can.
Just as well, studios have been cracking down letting title get out before street date, so CH may only be receiving stock of new releases maybe one week before street.
Combine that with Media Mail, and you ain't gettin no movies on release day, or even close to it.
I FINALLY just got my copies of Braveheart and Gladiator that were ordered long ago, just a couple days ago.
It certainly is disappointing when everyone else is watching their new releases, and by the time you receive yours from CH, it's now considered a "catalog release"
