I disagree. I put the two items you name in my cart and they come to a total of $15... $7.50 each. Not the best deal I admit, but much better than you indicate. Put two Harry Potter catalog titles in the cart and they are about $11 each... hard to beat.
Don't be confused by the site pricing which I have always thought was totally whacked. During a B1G1 most newer blu will be ~$15 each and most catalog blu will be ~ $11... put them in the cart to be sure.
I agree with dsa_ shea, you have to pick and choose. Be selective in these sales any you can do very well.

I stand corrected. I think the prices changed since I tried it, because that additional discount was not there when I did it. I also did not see the S&H charge get added, but I did not move past updating my credit card.

It looks like CH has changed the prices of almost all Blu-Rays in the upward direction. Plus, it seems that they have disabled your ability to go in and enter a promotion code. Please tell me I'm wrong because if Blu-Rays are now 34.95 to 39.95 then CH can piss off.

^ Hmmmm....I am not seeing the same thing. I am seeing prices in the $20's. None of the titles on my wish list have changed.

Now, if they would just roll-out a free shipping code before Sunday..........

prices look the same to me. I know I have heard other ppl on another site mention they were showing up full price but when added to your cart the sale price shows up.

Blu-ray Disc prices remain at the usual 25% off MSRP:

$19.95 >> $14.96
$28.95 >> $21.71
$29.95 >> $22.46
$34.95 >> $26.21
$35.95 >> $26.96
$39.95 >> $29.96

Re: B1G1F on Blu-ray Discs, through 3/8/09

Weird that on mine it is showing the higher MSRP. However, it is showing the corrected sale price once I add the item to my cart. I still can't get the option to enter a promotion code though.

^It appears that Columbia House has finally mastered the technique of making it impossible to add sale offer codes when doing a major sitewide sale. Took them long enough!

Re: B1G1F on Blu-ray Discs, through 3/8/09

Received shipping notifications for all of the titles I ordered, except the 2 pre-orders.

Also, the B1G1 sale is the offer when I log in right now.

I mostly agree, but still not a terrible price for titles like Amadeus or Matrix......

Re: B1G1F on Blu-ray Discs, through 3/8/09

To each their own, I guess. I just ordered 4 recent or upcoming BD titles (Rocknrolla, Mummy 3, Zack and Miri, The Spirit) for an average of $15.47 to fulfill my account (I enrolled with TWO copies of Dr Who S4 for $9.95). To get 4 brand new BD's plus two DVD box sets (that retail for $100 each) for a grand total of $75.83 shipped is INSANE. You can't beat that at any store, not counting price mistakes...

Yeah, because every other retailer routinely sells Blu-rays for less.

Is there something I'm missing? I've tried mixes of pre-orders and non and can't get it to show up with one free in any rational combination.

That's too bad too, but then, it's Columbia House. For them a new technique just means new ways to make mistakes that benefit us.

Anyway, I haven't ordered yet, but I've got my eye on The Matrix, Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale and Zach and Miri to fulfill an account. Total comes out to about $65.

Also, I've been playing around and you can use clearance, DOTD and under $20 sets as a B1 and get the cheap Blu-Rays free. I don't know if there's any good deals to be had, but I thought I'd toss it out there.

Or $10-$11 each if you are fulfilling an account. That's pretty good for $34.95 or $35.95 MSRP titles.

Yes, it would be better with free shipping and such a deal might come along in the next few months. One never knows with Columbia House.

Couldn't resist, even with the shipping charge. Got Slumdog Millionaire, JFK, Shawshank Redemption, Little Miss Sunshine, Silence of the Lambs all on blu-ray and 30 Rock Season 2 all for about $98 including shipping and tax. May not be earth-shattering, but it's certainly a very good deal.

I take it you haven't actually seen The Spirit.
