Stupid CH Auto Dialer!
Ugh. For the last two weeks I've been getting several calls a day from the same 800 number. Usually I don't pick up, but after repeated calls I started picking up last week to see who the heck was calling me. Unfortunately, every time I answered, whoever was on the other end hung up.
Late last week I got pissed and called the number back, and it was CH! The CSR apologized for the problems with the autodialer, then proceeded to sell me on a special offer, which I declined. Next day, I continued to receive calls from the same number -- 800.825.7854. I called them back again today, and the rep apologized and removed me from the call list.
Anyone else get telemarketing calls from CH?

I received one last week. The woman informed me that, because I was such a special customer, I had been enrolled automatically in their CD club. I told her that I had no interest in their CD club. There was a pause, after which she asked me, in a somewhat confused and incredulous tone, why I didn't want to be a part of their CD club. I informed her that I downloaded all of my music for free, and then hung up. They haven't called since then.

When I apply over the phone, I make it explicitly clear to the CSR that I want to be placed on a "do not call" list as well ensuring that they do not give out my e-mail to any 3rd parties (apparently this is another option for them to select).

FWIW, I use a fake phone number when signing up with Columbia House (the number is an automated recording, so that I don't inconvenience anyone if CH calls it).
