what's the difference between the criterion collection of 8 1/2 and the normal one, or of any other movie for that matter

This isn't the forum for asking. However, I'm kind. The Criterion has a slightly better image than the Image release and a damn site more special features.

it was on topic though... if you search criterion on CH, you come up with other expensive titles... i'm not sure if these ones qualify for B1G1 free, cause all the codes seem to have expired and i couldn't test it out for myself... the most expensive DVD i've confirmed that works with free shipping that is B1G1 is Lawrence of Arabia at $29.99... haven't tried anything else that works...

the extended edition of gladiator was a no go, and any of the DVD sets give similar results....

The criterion titles qualify for B1G1 free. I can confirm this because I bought some with the code.

I bought all the following titles with The Third Man. Now my order status shows like this:

Hearts & Minds: The Criterion Collection 3639002 Pending $13.98
The Red Shoes : The Criterion Collection 3639507 Pending $0.00
8 1/2: The Criterion Collection 3638905 Pending $13.98
Munich 4390407 Pending $0.00
The Ruling Class: The Criterion Collection 3639606 Pending $13.98

Subtotal $41.94
Shipping & Processing $0.00

Tax $3.36

Total $45.30

My origianl order confirmation emial shows $77.65 total with The Third Man. It seems that CH took off the OOS title and refund me at $30 plux tax (not sure about the math here). And still I am getting a free Criterion title, a free Munich and all other Criterion titles for 60% off. And I got Hamlet (Criterion) with a funcash order. Very sweet.
