I haven't had much luck getting a second account opened up, even though I keep getting both snail mail and emails saying they want me back.

What would be the best enrollment code to use now? My brother is going to join and this will be his first time ever as a member so his chances of being accepted ought to be good, I just want to use the best code currently available for him.

1KJ is the first one I used... and good if he wants to use the 'bill me' option without having a PSN.

Any of the codes in the first post of this thread should work fine except for the K7* series, which no longer work.

There is no difference between codes so far as the chance of the application being accepted is concerned. Except that phone orders (using EBP) have a much higher success rate than on-line orders for those of us who have had many accounts before.

Newcomers to the club are usually accepted without difficulty. Many of us here prefer to use a code that has a credit card option because it allows us to track the charge on our card to determine whether the application has been accepted.

Thanks for the info, he wants to purchase the Star Trek: Enterprise seasons so I suggested he join the club, since those sets are so expensive he will at least get something to go along with it to help get more for his money, plus buying just one set will take care of all his commitments, they are $77.

^It is best when ordering expensive sets like that to decline the $9.95 "bonus" enrollment title. That leaves one with three fulfillments to buy and the set will count for all three.

Yes I told him the intro package would just cost $2.49, I will see if there are any B1G1 codes available when he orders so he can get another DVD.

So, at $87.95 for 2 DVDs and $2.49 for 6 DVDs, that averages out to appr. $11.30 per DVD, not bad at all.

While your strategy is valid, just averaging the cost of the membership isn't a useful way to look at it. Using your numbers I would analyze it like this:

Value of a regular DVD = $4.80 (using a 7:2 code, BOGOF with free shipping to fulfill)

Enrollment: 6 x 49¢ = $2.94 (6 DVDs)
Fulfillment: $77.97 +$7.99 shipping + (free DVD) + $1.99 shipping = $87.95 (1 set + 1 DVD)
Total: $2.94 + $87.95 = $90.89 (7 DVDs + 1 set)
Relative cost of the set: $90.89 - ($4.80 x 7) = $90.89 - $33.60 = $57.29

This would be $1.99 less if you could find a BOGOF code that has "free shipping for everything" (except sets, of course).

That's still pretty expensive but if your brother really wants the set, it is probably the best price going right now. In a year or two Enterprise sets will be much lower in price, as is the case for TNG and DS9 sets now.

I checked other places, it is 90 something dollars each at amazon, deep discount, and walmart.

If there are other sets he's interested in it might be worth his while to check the TV on DVD club.

I provided the "manual" method because a few people have had trouble with the pre-done link over the past few days. I've always used the manual method.

It's all really a matter of what else he's interested in picking up. If there are enough sets he would like from the TV-DVD membership, cycle those until you have what you want/need. Otherwise cycle regular DVD memberships until you have your sets. The main thing is to cycle accounts to minimize the final totals. If he's wanting to get all 4 then that means at least 4 cycles due to these sets fulfilling a membership when purchased.

Repeat after me: Join, fulfill, cancel...

Repeat until satisfaction has been achieved.

After a few times he'll be hooked like the rest of us.

Although "Enterprise" isn't available as an enrollment in the TV Edition club, it could be purchased as a fulfillment if there are two other sets in the limited enrollment list that are also wanted. Otherwise, buying DVDs from the regular DVD club is probably the best bet, because there are thousands of titles that are available for enrollment.

It is important to purchase titles that are wanted (whether for one's collection, gifts, or whatever), otherwise the savings on buying the Enterprise sets as fulfillments is illusory.

Crap! I tried EBP over the phone today and was told it's not valid. This is the first time in 2 1/2 years of enrollments that I have not had a code to use over the phone. In my experience, you have to wait about a month between enrollments to get another online one to go through. Are there ANY good phone enrollment codes anymore???

^ Did you call the phone enrollment number: 888-242-3837? The reason I ask is because enrollment codes stopped working years ago with the regular CSRs at the regular phone numbers. If you did call the number above and were told that EBP is invalid, that is a problem. There are other similar codes but if EBP is invalid, it is likely that the others are as well.

Yes, that's the number I called (888-CHC-DVDS). According to them, EBP is no longer valid.I tried one of the other 6:2 codes too, and it didn't work either.

^Yeah. I can confirm that. See my postings in this thread from about a month ago with the same issue and there was also a new thread started by someone else yesterday about this too, so I made some comments there too.

Try EBP or 1KJ (for web applications).

With the exception of the K7* codes, which no longer work, most of codes listed in the first post of this thread should work and give the same deal: seven enrollments for $12.89 with two required fulfillments. That is the best deal currently available.

I tried EBP and they said it was invallid, as were a couple of others on the first page. They did accept 59H, so that one still works, at least for now.

Lizard, please tell me which codes to add/delete off the first page, havnt been here much with my new addiction being HD-DVD's.

^ All of the 6:1 K7* codes are dead, so that whole section should go. So far as I am aware, all of the 7:2 codes still work ok.

The phone order codes are in a state of flux. It appears that EBP may no longer work on the phone; I don't know about EBQ. But there is a report that 98W was accepted on the phone (888-242-3837) recently. It is a standard 7:2 code that requires a PSN (but, as we all know, on the phone one can just say that one doesn't have the PSN handy and the CSR will accept that). And Upper pylon 3 mentions above that 59H works. So, you might list those two as working phone enrollment codes.

Like you, I also have been buying only HD DVDs (plus the occasional TV set) of late. But now that Columbia House is carrying HD DVDs it remains to be seen if we can work good deals for those.

I can't find the place where you put the code in the online order form, it used to be just below the selection boxes but it isn't there now.
