Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II
I NEVER get offered enrollment codes anymore.
I used too, back a few years ago when I cycled accounts.
I took a break for a year or so, and now for the last several months, I have been cycling accounts again.
I've opened and closed at least 25 accounts this year.
I always sign up online, and when I do, I never get anything from CH via snail mail, other than the enrollments package, and when I buy discs.
For email, I get the "advertising to buy" emails, but after the account gets closed, no more email.
Whether through email, or through snail mail, I have not received a solicitation to join or rejoin CH for at least 2 years.
I find that very odd.

^I only get the "we want you back" e-mails at an old e-mail address that was associated with an old mailing address. I don't get any at my main e-mail address even though I have closed many accounts linked to it over the years.
Perhaps if there are active accounts at an e-mail address one doesn't get the "we want you back" e-mails. However, knowing Columbia House, my old address probably got flagged for those e-mails years ago and their computers just keep on sending them because it never got turned off. Still, it is useful to get those messages and check out the enrollment codes they send. For example, the latest one, from September, is "Calling Back Former Members: 6 DVDs for 49¢ each, plus FREE Shipping", code 29Y.
An aside, for newcomers here: responding to a "we want you back" e-mail does NOT increase your chances of being accepted for a new account, versus just using one of the codes we discuss here. To the CH CSRs who review the on-line applications there is no difference.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II
I wonder if mailing in an application via snail mail would increase you chances of an app not being "lost".
Course that would be hard for me to do when I don't get any.

But my experience, and that of others, suggests that mail-in applications did have a high acceptance rate.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II
Just received notice of a new account successfully opened with 27B. I was going to place an order tonight, though, and got a weird error when I went to pay. Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II
Some new (not good) codes:
2EF -- 3:3 code (or 4:2, if you go for the $9.95 title), enrollment selections @ $.49 each, with FS
2ED -- same, but the email said $1.00 each, not $.49 each for the enrollments; details on the enrollment site matched 2EF, though
Using B1G1FS codes, these would work out to:
4:2:
$.49*3 + $9.95 + $19.95*2 = $51.32 / 8 = $6.42 each.
or
3:3:
$.49*3 + $19.95*3 = $61.32 / 9 = $6.81 each
So sad. I hope the 7:2 codes aren't going to die off.
Of course, I haven't had an app approved in a LONG time. I haven't even bothered to apply in the last 2 months(?)

Same here. I apply about once a month out of habit, but all have gone missing since the last approval in March.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II
WOOT! Broke the drought with an online 27B application!!!
I took the eighth DVD for $9.95 as an enticement to CH. Amortized over the eight enrollments and four more fulfillments (assuming a BOGOF code) it really doesn't hurt too much ...

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II
I canceled an account in early December and applied again in ~ three weeks (this may have been my downfall ...) - nothing. Applied in January - nothing. Again in March with the extra $9.95 selection - nothing. So, I let things cool down until now, and voila!
EDIT: I ought to add that I fulfilled using the 3 Blu-rays for $60, Free Shipping and the B1G1F code. 14 titles (including 3 Blu-ray) for $82.84 = $5.92 per. I've done better (maybe) but I'll take it!

I enrolled online 2 days a go with 29Y.It was probably my 3rd attempt at getting a 2nd account open.
I received the "welcome"email today.
So,I can only guess that the reason I was accepted this time is because I chose the buy 1 DVD now for $9.95 offer

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II
Just tried a new code 1hr
6 DVD's/Blu-Rays for $0.49 each plus $0.99 shipping each
7th for $16.95
8th for $12.95
With 2 left to purchase to fulfill enrolement
Did my application online with my CC info entered. Will update once I find how it works out. This was on columbiahousecanada so not sure if it will work on the US site (if someone wants to try it).

^ The Canadian Columbia House and USA Columbia House are completely separate entities, so codes for CH Canada won't work on the US site, and vice versa.
Not that I wouldn't like that Blu-ray enrollment deal to be offered on this side of the border!

This is just another example of why the USA should have taken over Canada long ago. If so, we would probably be enjoying Blu-ray enrollments right now.

And we wouldn't have to pay those ten guys to patrol the border.
Seriously, though. Nice deal at CHCanada. I'd actually make the switch to Blu-ray due to that. I still only buy Blu-ray in very rare situations.

Well, my 27B attempt from two weeks ago appears to have gone nowhere, so maybe I'll try 29Y. Or maybe I'll stare at the sun for a few hours.

Re: CH Enrollment Codes Part II
I am trying to enroll online. When I put in the code it takes it. But then when I do a search for the dvd I want, it reverts back to the 3 for a $1 offer. I tried deleting cookies, and no help. Any suggestions?
