Best strategy for Looney Tunes: GC 3?

Hi all,

I lend my ear to the CH DVD Club gurus on this forum. I've been considering starting a new DVD Club account again... it's been awhile since I've had one, and I wouldn't have a problem finding discs I'd like to have.

That said, what would be my best strategy if I wanted to use the Looney Tunes Gold Collection 3 as a fulfillment title?

Is that a wise move? Or would I be better off obtaining it outside of the scope of CH?

I appreciate any advice on the matter. Thanks!

Assuming you find 7 enrollment titles that you want, you should definitely get it through CH. The lowest outside price for that set looks like $45 from Amazon or Best Buy. CH has it for $48.71 + $7 shipping, which seems like a lot, but the relative price is actually much much lower.

If you can get a 7:2 account open before the current B1G1 deal ends, then you should purchase Looney Tunes GC3 as your fulfillment title (which counts as 2 commitments), and then add any other regular DVD (excluding preorders, but including the Criterions and other expensive non-enrollment titles), and you should be done and very happy. Even if you can only get a 7:3 account approved (7:2 has been difficult lately), you would have a pretty good deal getting the set + another regular DVD, and then 2 freebies.

Generally, almost anything that is available through CH is best to get through CH. There are a few exceptions (e.g. boxsets that are $37 at CH but go on sale for $15 at a certain outlet, things like that) but those are usually obvious. Good luck.

This set is $48.71, so could indeed be a good fulfillment to close your account. Any of the current codes for signing up which require 2 fulfillments would be fine--see this thread: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread....&goto=lastpost
And of course, don't forget to use the $5 off webdvd code link when you place your order. The only bad part is that there hasn't been free shipping in a while, so you would be paying shipping on that set... But there is a buy one get one free code currently, so you could select an additional title for free when you fulfill, such as a Criterion (if that code is still valid)

EDIT--I see Legend wrote basically the same thing as me. It took me too long to type this I guess. LOL!
