The extra 5 off

I used to have the Columbia House for dummies bookmarked but it seems to have vanished.

how do you get the extra 5 bucks off your first purchase again?

Your order must also be at least $30 to get the $5 taken off.

Is it possible to get the $5 off with the B1G1 email offer, if so how do I use it?

1. Sign in at columbiahouse.com/webdvd.
2. Click on the current offer link at the top of the page.
3. When the next screen appears, there should be a box half-way down the page that says "looking for the offer in your mailing?". Enter either 808937 or 801637 in the box and hit enter.
4. Pick your items and checkout. Remember that your order total must be over $30 to qualify for the $5 coupon.

I've gotten that message a lot of times in the past. What worked for me was clearing my browser cache, running ccleaner and then using a different browser than the one I usually signed in on. Also before you do that, go back to the site and sign out instead of just closing the CH window.

I've had good luck using Firefox...

I got it to work so I ordered The Flash and Willy Wonka (the one with Gene Wilder), total cost including shipping and $5 discount is $40.95. Not bad considering both amazon and deep discount dvd has The Flash for over $40 by itself. Thanks for the help.

They have now removed this bonus.. if you have some outdated material and tell a CSR about it they might credit your account.. it's their discretion.

I just tried it using IE on my other DVD TV account that I haven't ordered from yet and it didn't work, got a "you are not logged in" page, but I tried it with firefox browser and it worked, I added 2 items to my cart and the $5 discount was there.

The "you are not logged in" error message is a cookie problem, hence the success when you swapped browsers. To avoid this problem, always log-out of your account when you are done with it.

If the error message occurs, an easy way to reset the cookie is to log-in to your account on the regular columbiahouse.com website then immediately log-out. After that, using the account and logging in on the $5 off website should work ok.
