^ I don't know. The listing appeared a few weeks ago and is now gone (might have been a barebones edition of the SE DVD released last year). Since I can't find any title like that due to be released on that date I have removed the listing for now.

Memoirs of a Geisha (Pre-Order) $14.95 4623906 5/1/07 8/1/07

what's this as well? same situation as the previous mysterious 'Rent' listing? I don't get any results when searching for that selection #.

^Yes, it appears they have pulled the listing for the single disc (which doesn't appear at a place like DVD Empire either). And the two disc versions, which came out last March, are not available for enrollment anymore, sorry to say.

What I think happened is that they decided to carry a single disc, now delayed (by the studio?), and pulled the two disc versions from Enrollment status. The same thing seems to have happened with Rent, from the same studio (Sony/Columbia). I will add them to the "Not Available" list when I can (a DVD Talk edit glitch has re-appeared that prevents me from editing the first post).

It appears that Lion's Gate titles are now available for enrollment after three months rather than two.

Notes:

• The Single Disc versions of Rent and Memoirs of a Geisha have re-appeared with a later release date. The two disc special editions are no longer available for enrollment.

• An MGM title, Copying Beethoven, has appeared, verifying that Fox does not control the MGM Home Entertainment releases, as I pointed out elsewhere. (Fox titles are not available from Columbia House.)

• Paramount Catalog titles seem to be delayed for enrollment six months instead of three.

• Lion's Gate titles seem to be delayed for enrollment three months instead of two.

• Universal titles have been appearing for pre-order. They used to appear on release day.

^Yes, I added those and a couple of others yesterday morning. I am unable to edit the first post today so I can't mark the Paramount titles that became available for enrollment.

Oops, didn't see those. Guess I figured you were still having issues editing the first post, as it appears you are having issues again today.
What is up with that stupid bug? Have any idea if it's going to be fixed?
buggy software = no fun

That long post bug is really a PITA. I've had it posted over in the feedback forum for weeks now but I guess Geoff hasn't figured out what is causing it. It isn't just me, others who maintain very long posts are also having problems editing or re-posting them.

And yes, I was unable to edit my post at midday yesterday after being able to do it earlier in the morning. Go figure. I was unable to edit my post again this morning. (But I was able to edit it a couple of hours later, so it is up-to-date now.)

If I come up with some major changes to the data and am unable to edit the first post I will bump the temporary thread. Otherwise I will just wait until I can edit the first post in this thread.

I think that is a mistake, as far as I can tell they aren't releasing that title in fullscreen

Breach is not a pre-order on CH, but...

since it is a Universal Studios title, might it still be carried by them later?

Edit: from CH FAQ thread-

Which studios does Columbia House carry?

A&E, AcornMedia, Anchor Bay, Artisan, BBC, BFS Video, Blue Underground, Columbia TriStar, DreamWorks, Fox Lorber (a few titles), Goldhill, Goodtimes, Hallmark, Image Entertainment (a few titles), Lion's Gate (some titles), MGM, New Line, Paramount, Rhino (a few titles), Royalty Inclusive, Slingshot, Sony Music, 20th Century Fox, Universal, Vidmark, Warner Bros., Warner Bros. Records, Wellspring, WinStar, Xenon.

Where are the Disney Animation titles?
Disney has begun their own Disney Movie Club, so CH does not offer these titles.

Where are the Buena Vista (Dimension, Disney, Hollywood Pictures, Miramax, Touchstone) titles?
CH apparently lost the right to carry Buena Vista titles in Jan. 2004. All BV titles were eventually removed from their website over the next few months as they sold off their remaining stock. It is unknown if they will reappear in the future.

...,20th Century Fox,
Well, we know that's not true. Unless somethings changed recently.

I did see that CH will start carrying HD-DVD & Blu-Ray DVDs in Fall 2007.

Now, if they would just re-start carrying FOX titles.

I think you should start a new thread if you want to talk about hd. There's lots that can be covered.

Back to this thread...

Reign Over Me (WS) has temporarily disappeared from the site, wonder what's up?

Columbia House used to carry Disney/Buena Vista/Dimension/Miramax and Fox DVDs. That ended several years ago. The FAQ is out of date.

CH never carried Disney animated titles.

I have no idea. I think that we can be assured that they won't be nearly as cheap as regular DVDs.

My guess would be that they will be offered in the regular club and could be used as fulfillments, say for $29.95 or so. That wouldn't really be a very good deal unless one could use BOGOF offers on them.

^Interesting. There was some disappointment expressed in another thread several weeks ago when that Special Edition wasn't listed along with the "Letters" SE.
