Should I join CH?
I was looking over the Columbia House website, and I was wondering whether or not I should join? Anyone have advice or information? What is the enrollment package that I saw in another post, and how are their prices overall?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Wait until there's a Buy One, Get One Free code with free shipping to fulfill. Also, sign on at columbiahouse.com/webdvd to get $5 off of your first online order of $30 or more when you do fulfill. This will be your breakdown-

I ended up joining tonight. I got the first and second seasons of I Love Lucy...so it's already starting with an awesome deal!

^Please be aware that you submitted an "application" for membership. You aren't approved until you get an e-mail saying so, your credit card gets charged the correct amount (not a temp charge), or you receive your enrollment package. Columbia House may or may not approve your application (first timers using HDL usually get approved) for mysterious reasons that are hard to fathom.
Good luck!

For new customers, a CSR reported here that the color of ink on a mail-in application mattered, so who knows?
The HDL code in the TV Edition of the DVD Club is something of a special case. Technically it is a dead code that CH chooses to honor in some cases. My sense is that first timers get approved. With those of us who have used the code before it is hit or miss as to whether new HDL applications get approved. I have had four HDL accounts but they were scattered over a long period of time.

Too many "bad" returns (those not caused by a Columbia House mistake) can harm one's chances. It is known that too many applications in short period of time harms one's chances (don't apply twice on the same day, for example). Phone applications are usually accepted but web applications are often "lost" for those of us who have had a number of accounts before (I have had more than 75).

Thanks. I still haven't hear anything. Do you know how long it usually takes?
Do you think it might increase my chances that my parents belonged to CH for about 10 years? Maybe they'll match the last name. Heh, anything to better my chances.
