CH Returns?

I recently received an enrollment package from CH Canada, but I received the single disc edition of the Great Escape instead of the Two disc version.

Here is what I was told to do by CH customer service:

Orders cannot be stopped or altered once they have been submitted. Any unwanted unopened selections may be returned for full credit or exchange.

If the shipping package is unopened or if the package has been opened but the envelope showing our address is not damaged, you may simply mark it RETURN TO SENDER, seal it carefully and put it back in the mail. However, if the package has been opened and the envelope is damaged, it will be necessary to affix the correct postage.

Unfortunately, the item listed below is no longer available through the Club. We regret having to disappoint you.
THE GREAT ESCAPES OF WWII SPECIAL COLL.E

If we may be of further service, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Hi,

I just received my DVDs for Account # -------- and there seems to be a
mistake. I was shipped "The Great Escape" single disc version instead of
the two disc collector's edition that I chose when I signed up. How do I go
about returning it for the proper edition?

Thanks,
It is a bit different than what the CH FAW says:

Call customer service or in the "Club Help" section online choose "Request a Return Label" on the left side. CH is very good about returns. They will send you a postage paid return label and a form to fill out. It takes about 2 weeks for them to receive and process your return. Then another 1-2 weeks to send you your replacement (if necessary).
It came in a box and I could use it and tape it back up but then Canada Post won't deliver it since it has been opened? I willl NOT spend a dime ot of my own money shipping it back becuse they swapped DVDs without my consent.

On a related note I received a different enrollment package a month or so ago and was expecting Sin City Recut but it wasn't part of the package. I contacted CS and they said it's not availeble for enrollment. Fine, so I got Batman Begins 2 Disc instead.

What is funny is that both Great Escape Two disc and Sin City Recut are still being listed as being available for enrollment on the CH Canada website.

BTW this was a CH Canada deal 3 DVDs for $9.95 and two more at $12.95 a piece with free shipping and handling. The Great Escape was one of the ones I was charged $12.95. I guess it iritates me because the just decided to sub the single disc version (That I can pick up almost anywhere for $8-$9) for the 2 disc version without even contacting me.

So should I just tape the box up and mark it as Return to Sender to CH? Or should I request a postage paid return label from CH?

CH Returns Canada

I'm in a similar situation. I have just received my CH Canada enrollment package but wanted Sin City Recut instead of the regular single disc Sin City and they confirmed via email that I can do this. Just return it to them with the email and they'll send it back.

But they did not indicate how to ship it or if i'll have to pay for that. So i'm waiting on info regarding that. If I can just use the box they sent me and "RETURN TO SENDER" great, but I asked about the "request a return label" option. I could not find it in the club help section on their website.

I'll be sure to update this thread with any info. I'm about to score a wicked package for 9.38 canadian per DVD. THat includes taxes, membership fulfillment and free shipping on all selections (enrollment and fulfillment).

Most of my selections were around th 30$ variety. Very pleased indeed. I shoulda used CH a long time ago! =)

Ok, so CH Canada no longer has "request a return label" anymore. Maybe this is common knowledge to people here.

If the box the shipment comes in isn't damaged after opening it, you have to send stuff back in the box it came in with "RETURN TO SENDER". If Canada Post won't accept it - we're on the hook for the shipping.

I've decided to keep my Sin City rather than exchange it for the extended version. I can do without the features and from what I heard, the extended footage isn't anything to write home about.

I tried to mail it back but they wouldn't accept it as Return to Sender as it had been opened, so I emailed them back saying as much and that I didn't think I should have to cover postage as it was their mistake.

Here was my email:
Hi,

I tried to mail back the package yesterday and was told it required postage,
between $5 and $10. This is not the DVD I rodered and don't think that I
should have to pay for shipping due to no fault of my own. I can understand
that sometimes some DVDs aren't available anymore, although The Great Escape
Special Edition is still being listed as available for enrollment on
www.columbiahousecanada.com right now. If it wasn't available I would have
rather not be sent a different DVD entirly and either not be charged for it
or be able to pick out a different DVD all together.

So what should I do now? I've read that in these cases you usually send a
prepaid shipping label? I have no desire to keep this disc and want to
return it and eiter pick out a different disc or have the $12.95 reversed on
my credit card. Please advise what I should do next.

Thanks,

And here was their reply:
We don't provide any shipping label.

If the shipping package is unopened or if the package has been opened but
the envelope showing our address is not damaged, you may simply mark it
RETURN TO SENDER, seal it carefully and put it back in the mail. However,
if the package has been opened and the envelope is damaged, it will be
necessary to affix the correct postage.

Notice that the paragraph was exactly the same?

So I emailed them back again:
So YOU ship the wrong title and I am stuck paying the bill for it? I have
ZERO interest in owning the DVD that was sent to me. If this was my fault I
would be more than happy to pay the shipping bill but it wasn't. In fact it
is very annoying that the title I requested is STILL listed on the website
as being available for enrollment when apparently it is not. Can I please
have this escalated to a supervisor?

Thanks,
And finally their last response:
Please send the DVD back to us REGULAR MAIL and enclose a copy of the receipt with the DVD. We will credit your account for the amount when the disc is received.

If we may be of further service, please let us know.
I guess it's better than nothing, but it was annoying that they screwed up and that I had to send three emails to get an acceptable response. Do you know what's really funny? The Great Escape is still listed on the website as being available for enrollment. I almost hesitated to make any issue of it as I don't want to thick them off and blacklist me from future accounts but the whole situation kinda pissed me off.

I have both and would really recommend the Recut version. I just looked on the site and both versions are not listed as enrollment selections.

both versions of Sin City are available when you enter the "195" online code. This is by far the best deal on DVD's I can find. I also sent in an application for the 9PY code that allows us 3 dvds for 9.95, free shipping, and no fulfillment, but haven't recieved any word on it yet.
