Sorry if this is confusing.

I have read the entire FAQ and have searched the forum but I am still unclear how to get 2 simultaneous accounts the CORRECT way without causing any problems for myself.

For Example:

I have a new account with Columbia House and I used the LMT
code which is 6 DVD's for .49 cents Plus an additional DVD for 9.99 with 2 commitment purchases to fulfill which I have done.
I have also had the Director's Selection canceled.

Ok? Now I did not cancel my one and only fullfilled account which has my user name and password online. How do I create an new second account? (and from what I read 2 are allowed)

Do I go to the same website I sign into?:

http://www.columbiahouse.com/sa/ch/homepage.jsp

Do I AVOID LOGGING IN using my one and only account name and password?

Do I then enter my choices as if I were a brand new customer using the K7L or similar code?

When I get to the checkout page to enter my SAME name and address from my previous account and my PSN or account # from my previous account (Psn and account# are the same right?) does it then create a second new account or will I get an error?



If I am doing this the right way and I give my credit card # and the order is accepted will it take the same ammount of time to be accepted as the first account? ( several days). I will still have the same PSN/account # right? I then create a SECOND user name and password for the same website...meaning I can log into either account on the same web site using either set of user names and passwords?

Or am I going to do this the wrong way?

Any help appreciated

You get a second account the same way you did your first account. Just go to columbiahouse.com, type in your savings code (LMT,K7L or whatever) and process the application. If it's one that asks for a PSN, then yes, use your current account number. Then, as before, you wait for your application to be approved. Once you are approved, you create a new username and password.

If you really want to get that second account, then phone in a new application. Web apps work great for someone who hasn't submitted one for a long time, but they tend to fail for those who have had multiple accounts.

Just a few other questions.

If I phone in to create a second account the code K7L will not work by phone from what I read.

Secondly, bear in mind that I do not want to cancel my first account, so...won't my current account come up on the customer services reps screen?

How do I explain why I want a second account (even though from what I read 2 are allowed) and how would I keep it seperate without creating a new username and password online? I can't create a user name and password with the rep right? I mean that would be giving them info they are not entitled too?

Do I have to wait a specified period of time between my fullfilled account and a second one or can I do it emmidately?

Just use another code then. You can try K7L too, they'll tell you if it's invalid.

No, it won't come up...I've never had them ask.

Right, they don't set up the account, the reps just type the application in. After you talk with them you still have to wait for the account to be approved. When you get your DVDs in the mail, you'll have a new account # for this second account. Just enter that and you zip on the sign-in page and you'll be allowed to choose whatever you want as your user name. I always use the acct #, it makes it easier to keep track of things.

You can do it right away. Realise you don't have to fullfill an account before you open a second one. You can have two accounts opened, and they can both have fullfillments left if you want. (Though I never do this.) As soon as I finish my obligation on one account, I open another one. I've even closed and account and opened one on the same phone call, though I haven't done that lately.

I have not read anywhere that you can have seperate account/psn #'s what I read stated that you can have 2 accounts using the same account/psn # then cancel the 2 if you want to start over again. And with my luck they will ask if I already have an account and that will be that. Is it best to do the second account on the phone? If I cancel my first account and want to creat a new account on the phon what happens if they ask for the old account #? will they give me a new one or what?

See, I want to take advabtage of the K7L code which only works online, I tried it on the phone when I first joined and it does not work and it only works online with a legitemate psn/account #. which one is not given until one joins (paradox). So, Are you saying my application of a second account would be rejected because I am using the same first fullfilled account #? If that is the case how does one take advantage of the online only best code offeres. It makes no sense to me?

Yes use a code like LMT on the phone 6 for .49 and 7th for 9.95. I have never been denied over the phone so i would give it a try web apps are iffy.

Just give them the one you have now it won't affect anything

It's very simple question I hope but I am getting different answers.

Fact: The only way to get a new account # is to sign up on the phone or web using a decent code or just using whatever deal is avialable right?

Or wrong?

Fact: If I sign up using either method (web or phone) a new account # is given BUT I can not use this new account # to take advantage of better online only codes?

Then I would be sent a new PSN/account # which Would have to be fullfilled before I can create a third account?

Once again the online site requires a psn/account # to take advantage of the online only K7L code. I have an account # but you are saying I need a new account # which is only aquired by going through the phone with an inferior code?

Has anyone used the k7l code and how?

This is what I want to hear but the above is contradicted by 2 other opinions. Which is correct?
The above seems to be not only what I want to hear but more plausible because of the reasons I have given.
Also if you can use the same account # again can you use it indeffinatley? just sign up fullfill account cancel account rejoin using the same account #. Or no?

A PSN is simply an account number. It does not have to be an old account, or a closed account, it can be any of those or a current account. And there is not a specified time period you have to wait between opening one account and then opening another, at least not that I know of.
Here is what you do to open a second account:
Do your application using the code you want either over the phone or on the web. As people have stated, the phone applications are more likely to go through. Also, it you do it over the phone, try the code you want to use (K7L) the worst that will happen is they will say it's invalid, and then give them a different code (LMT being the next best code) If the code your use require a PSN, use the account number of your current account.
The CSR should not mention the fact that you already have an open account. As far as I know, nobody has ever experienced this before.
After you sign up, you wait to get approved. Once you are approved, your online username and password will be the account number of the new account and your zip code. Once you logon with those, you will be able to create a custom username and password for that account.
Note, this whole time, you can keep another account open, and it will not affect this new account at all.
I hope I've answered any questions you have.
