Waiting for HD DVDs
Anyone here on a movie purchase freeze waiting for the HD DVD or blu-ray DVDs to hopefully come out and be available on Columbia House?
I've wondered if I should stop buying regular DVDs and wait..

Yes, I have a hold on some titles while I wait for the HD format war to shake out. For example, a newer TV series like Battlestar Galactica, which I have never seen, seems like a good candidate for high definition. But older TV series that I have already started collecting I will continue to buy on DVD.
But for most movie DVDs, we get them so cheap, $5 or so, that I don't see the point in waiting. If I want to upgrade them to high definition it wouldn't be a big deal to give away or sell the DVD.

Who knows how long it will take for HD DVD - any format - in general to catch on, let alone how long it will take for particular titles to be issued? DVD caught on quickly but how long was it before, for example, Star Wars came out on DVD?
