Waiting for that approval email??

This is a problemo folks. Email address not showing on accounts!!!

If you have just signed up for a new app. and are awaiting the welcome email, you just may want to call if it's been more than 2 days. YES 2 days.

I was wondering why I hadn't received my welcome email, and I waited since last Wed. I was dying because I knew the 1st B1G1 was ending last Sunday.

Never got the welcome email and I was bummed.

Then the new B1G1 was posted and I was again DYING to get my welcome email. I decided to call, since I had 1 account still open. The CSR was super friendly (american too!) and she said no problem to look for all accounts open. I told her I applied last week, and she noticed that it was approved an open the very next day!!!

When I got my number, I immediatly saw that there was NO EMAIL LISTED. I am 100% positive I had my email listed when I applied. NO IFs, ANDs or BUTs about it.

So.....if you want to catch this B1G1 dealio, you may want to call right now. More than likely it's been approved already. I think this is why some are getting their dvds in the mail and not receiving the welcome emails!!

Theirs a glitch there. I remember a few weeks back or sometime, that someone kept "putting in their email address" and they'd go back the next day and it was gone. This is also happening to me on this account. I must go back every day and reinput my email address.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. But I know people are DYING like I was to get in on this latest B1G1, which I fulfilled with:

The Constant Gardener 04341004W $21.95

Four Brothers Special Collector's Edition 04313409W Free

Serenity 04315701W Free

The 40-Year-Old Virgin (Unrated) 04315503W $16.95

Subtotal $38.90

TOTAL AVG. FOR THIS ROUND OF DVD'S 11 for $51.84 ....$4.71EACH

They seem to be having problems with storing e-mail addresses. I never got an e-mail on a recent account and didn't even know that I was approved until the enrollment package arrived. I noticed that my e-mail address wasn't staying saved on the site. I contacted CH about it and they did fix the problem(they said that they had to add my e-mail address from their mainframe). I then did a TV club account and I did receive the "Welcome" e-mail. Maybe it's a random thing, but I just signed up for an account 2 days ago and have a temporary charge on my card. If I don't receive the "Welcome" e-mail by tomorrow, then I'll surely give them a call before the BOGO code expires.

Yes I did. That's why I see it as a big problem! If it was there to get the Thank you email, it still should have been there for the Welcome to the club email.

I also haven't been receiving approval e-mails despite submitting my e-mail address in applications. I also don't get promotional e-mails anymore, although I do get order confirmations ok. Something isn't working right at Columbia House.

Exactly. This is why I posted a new thread. People really need to call to get their new membership number so they can log into the $5webdvd site and fulfill with the B1G1 great deal. (if they so choose)

So .. CALL!

^ I think I'll wait for the enrollment package. I don't really want a CSR to do a search and see my dozens of previous accounts.

I'm assuming she only "searched" for open accounts, one was approved the day after I applied, the other was an account I alreday had opened.. Nothing about previous ones. Anyways, to me, if it's approved it's approved. Go on, order away, live life on the edge!

Can you give the number you called and what you went through to get to the CSR, and then what you asked them?

I've had probably 25+ accounts in my days (not even close to the most around here), and most of the times I've called, they've told me that they didn't have my email address on file. I knew it wasn't true, because when I had them give me my account numbers over the phone, my email address was listed when I logged in for the first time online.

I spoke with one CSR who told me that their system doesn't show it unless they key it themselves, but it is on record.

I wish just not getting the e-mail was my problem...I applied on 1/4 and haven't heard a thing or received my enrollment package. Meanwhile, I've placed other orders and opened a different TV account since then and received the approval and DVDs already. So my 1/4 order truly is "lost" for the time being...

Simply dialed 1.800.667.0364
Then pressed:

Put in my open acct# which brought me to the CSR.

I asked:

She said:

Me said:

Thanks for this post! If I don't receive the "Welcome" e-mail by tomorrow afternoon, I'll follow your lead to get my account number.

Well, I just followed j-bo's instructions (thanx!) and she didn't see a new account
She asked if I used a credit card to sign up and said I didn't get that option, and she said it can take longer for them to see the account like that, or something along those lines. The current BOGOF code ends in two days, don't know if I should bother trying to do another account.

I figure this code will be back again sometime in the next couple months anyway, so I'm not too worried...

I am expecting/hoping for the same thing. But I decided to take j-bo's suggestion and make the call. Once the CSR saw how many accounts I had had before (50+ at my current address) he put me on hold for awhile so he could scan through all of them.

Unfortunately for me, he wasn't able to come up with a new account, despite the fact that the charge hit my credit card three days before. (He gave me some BS about it being too soon for the account to be in the system and suggested I call back in a week.)

So, my take on all this is that "my" CSR couldn't, or didn't know how to, search for accounts by being open, date, or whatever. And I don't know if I really have a new account approved or whether the charge is just some sort of glitch in the Columbia House system.

Oh well. I will wait for an enrollment package to arrive.

Edit: my enrollment package arrived on 1-28, just in time to take advantage of the BOGOF code and the $7 madness.

Here's a first for me.

I applied for a new membership last Thursday 1/19. No email confirmation, nothing. DVDs arrived yesterday in the mail. Still no "Welcome to the club" email. I created a login, and got confirmation of that, so I know they have a correct/valid email address for me.

I can live without the confirmation and welcome emails, if the enrollment package shows up in a week :-). But it is weird. More mystery from CH.

I applied 2 days ago and the charge has already hit my credit card. I called just a few minutes ago to try and get my account number and was given some BS about how my account wouldn't show up in their system until a week after approval. Guess I'll just try back tomorrow afternoon. I'd really like to fulfill with the B1G1 code that's out now.

I have not received a welcome email or the DVDs from a phone enrollment from 1/20/06. The charge went through today, so I just called and asked for the account number. I was on hold for about five minutes while they looked up my info; however, the CSR gave me the account number. I then went to the web page, used the $5 web discount, B1G1F Code, and fulfilled the account.

I'd suggest calling back and hopefully talk to a different CSR who gives a dern about customer service!!

I wonder if you asked for the web specialist if they would help out, since it seems to be a problem on their email saving capabilities, and thus, no welcome emails.

I'd give it a shot.
