Help - $20 funcash, need options
Hey all,
I have $20 in funcash I would like to spend, and I was wondering whether anyone has any recommendations. Please keep in mind that I have 300+ dvds, and I have the usual CH suspects (Wizard of Oz 3dsic, Titanic, etc.)
Looking for good deals on good movies for regular dvds, and bargain boxsets. Please note that if the boxset is under $40 (after the built-in 40% off), then I can only use $10 funcash as per the Funcash policy.
Your help is very much appreciated.

The titles that are considered box sets will ring up higher in your FC cart. For example, the King Kong tin will be $29.96. I would advise to buy something that will never be available as an enrollment selection. There are 6 different Criterion titles, 6 different Universal Monster Legacy titles, Eternal Sunshine 2-disc, Seven Platinum, Panic Room 3-disc, Dr. Strangelove 40th & Rockford Files Season 1 to name a few. I am thinking about blind buying the Polar Express 2-disc with my FC.
EDIT: From what you're looking at, I would either recommend the King Kong tin(I just got this yesterday from CH and the packaging is awesome) or the 2-disc version of Boogie Nights. The BN deal is better though because you'll only get $10 off of KK and the shipping for KK is also pretty steep.

Sale prices never apply to FC orders. They will charge you their every day price on box sets when you add them to your FC cart. Free shipping never applies to FC orders either. You could make a FC order with 3 FC titles and you'll still be charged shipping for each one of them. I thought that WOTW was a solid movie, but opinions vary wildly on this title. You might want to give it a rental first(I'm a little nervous about blind buying Polar Express for this very reason). Boogie Nights on the other hand is a great movie, IMO.

Some newer titles that might interest you are the Frighteners Director's Cut and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory Deluxe. You might also want to wait until December 20 and get Serenity(a no brainer if you're a Firefly fan). Serenity is a Universal title, so it won't show up on the website until the day of release. The Exorcism of Emily Rose might also make a good blind buy FC order(release date-December 20).

I was just in a similar situation, I had $21 in funcash, and first I tried transferring it to my ch.com account, but obviously that didn't work (advantage there is no shipping on funcash, so use $20 funcash on a $19.95 movie, and it's really free) so I ended up getting the Frighteners for $4 and change, which is cheaper than an enrollment cycle DVD, so it was worth it.

THANK YOU.
I was going to place a funcash order tonight on titles I didn't really want ( I have $34 left). I didn't think Serenity was going to be available, since I barely keep track of studios and what CH does and doesn't carry.
Any other upcoming titles (this year) that aren't yet showing up?

I was in the same boat with $20 in FC. I ended up going with War of the Worlds 2-disc LE. After tax and shipping it was under $10 bucks. Not bad for a DVD that retails no less than $25 (at least that I could find).

Lol, now I have $36 funcash after the B1G1 sale (placed two orders). Picked up War of the Worlds, Panic Room 3disc, and Glory, three of the titles mentioned here. So now what do I do? Maybe some of the Warner 2disk editions (amadeus, boogie nights)? But those are on sale this week at Best Buy.... hmmm....

You might want to wait until the end of the month to see if they'll extend the redemption period. Originally, the redemption period was supposed to end on May 31. CH then extended it until June 30. Right before the end of June, they extended it again to December 31. I have a feeling that they won't extend it again since it would be into a new year, but you never know.

I've got $49 in funcash. I'm thinking of waiting til the end of the year to see if they add 2046 & am wondering if there's any value in waiting to order a 2nd movie...(& I know it's not a big deal waiting 2 weeks)

Everyone, thanks for your help. With my $36 in funcash, I got the 40 Year Old Virgin and Leon: Deluxe Edition. After shipping and the overage, I ended up paying $13.93. So not bad. Oh well.
