Has anyone been enrolling lately?
Just wondering.
I closed an account, because of the B1G1 code. But can't seem to really get excited about the offerings for enrollment. If you have enrolled lately, what did you choose? |
No I have not enrolled lately, but I am planning on trying at the end of the month now that the offer code finder seems to be up and running again.
|
Since I have most of the older stuff I really want, I wait every couple of months or apply again. This gives newly releases titles time to become enrollments and also brings the free shipping cycles within reach to fulfill accounts.
|
Opened a new account yesterday...
Jaws 30th ("upgrade"), Casino AE, The Damned Don't Cry and 4 of the last batch of WB film noirs... Crossfire, Born to Kill, Clash by Night, The Narrow Margin. It'll be 2006 before I find another 7 for enrollment... My CH shopping is pretty much complete at this point. |
I finally got an enrollment app through about a week ago and got the DVD's 2 days ago.. I selected (Yes 8 instead of 7 loses money I know but with the way apps have been going for me I shot for the moon)....
The Thin Blue Line Vernon, Florida Gates of Heaven In Cold Blood East of Eden Gloria Barry Lyndon Bob Dylan: Don't Look Back |
In case anyone missed it, there are a whole bunch of Three Stooges and Outer Limits (the new series) now available for enrollment. I've got them listed and will use them as filler when I need one or two more for new enrollments.
|
I'm down to an account every 2 months or so, concentrating on newer releases as my back catalogue is full. Plus, I'm just plain pickier these days.
|
I finally got a new account opened a couple of weeks ago.
I picked up: Hotel Rwanda Birth Point Blank His Girl Friday Casino Ann. Ed. Monster's Ball Signature Series |
Help!!
Ok, now I'm starting to get pissed. I applied weeks ago for Columbia House. I used the lmt code. A week later, I called them to see what was up. The guy looked up my info and didn't see it. Because I didn't have a legit psn, the guy on the phone told me to use a code that didn't require a psn. So last week, I went ahead and redid my order, this time using the PS7 (or psq, forget which one, but it's similar to lmt, but you have to pay 14.95 for the 7th dvd). Anyway, that was last week (literally 7 days ago). What should I do? Does it usually take this long? I appreciate any help.

Not sure about you guys, but after using the "death" option to close my last accounts, I have yet to have one go thru all the way - I don't have any accounts currently open @ these addresses. I guess CH really considers me "dead"??? I even tried a phone app twice - I can see my temp charges($1 & $full), but they just disappear after a week.
|
I received my enrollment package last week - I enrolled with the LMT code.
I got: The Great Escape SE Jaws 30th The Osterman Weekend Casino SE Heat SE Once Upon a Time in America SE The Big Red One Reconstruction The Hills Have Eyes SE |

same here |
I got this one through about 3 weeks ago -
P7M The Aviator The Big Red One SE Bullitt SE Spider-Man 2 SE Swimming With Sharks SE Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War SE The Thing CE |
Its been a few months for me to, hence the question.
I've been buying dvd's that CH doesn't carry at BlockB 3 for $25 to get my fix. Guess I'll wait a few more months. |
I do at most 2-3 a year now. After 30+ accounts, there aren't all that many titles I want (since I've passed them over time and time again). When new DVDs come out that I want but don't need right away, if they're on CH I'll just wait and after there are enough of them, I'll place an order.

No problem doing a new online membership with LMT code in mid-September:
<b>BIG RED ONE BAD EDUCATION UNDERTOW THE AVIATOR ORGAZMO EAST OF EDEN REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE</b> I seem to have slowed down to about 3-4 cycles a year now. |
Recently enrolled with LMT and got the following:
The Big Red One Gunga Din Broadway Melody 1929 Karate Kid (SE) Star Trek: Insurrection (SE) The Professionals (SE) Point Blank Fulfilled with the B1G1 free code: High and the Mighty The Sting (SE) Free To Kill a Mockingbird (SE) Major Dundee Free |
I use to do at least 4-6 enrollments a month with 2 different addresses, now i have had the same membership for almost a year.
I just got too busy at work to be opening and closing memberships constantly. What i found out is that i still avg. about $7 a dvd with sales, free shipping, and fun cash, plus i have no hassle. I never thought i would be a permanent member of CH but here i am. |

I submitted a web application about two weeks ago with LMT, but haven't heard a thing from them except the initial application confirmation email. Called them up like last week and they told me to wait another week. So what do you guys think? Has my order gone the way of the dodo?
I have no open accounts with CH. The last account I had was fullfilled and closed over an year ago. I used to get an approval email like 3-4 days after application when I used to apply with them last year. How are things these days? |
I submitted one a few weeks ago (LMT), and after a week I sent them an email asking what was up? After a few emails back and forth, they said they had no record of me ever submitting my application and asked me to resubmit, which I did last week with 1kgd, now its been over a week again and still nothing. I did get a TV account to go through a few weeks ago though, the approval came through the next day, and the dvd's were received 4dys later...I wish the regular club was that fast!!

Web enrollments are problematic. If you have never had an account before they work fine. If you have had more than a couple of accounts before web applications are often (usually?) "lost". Why this happens remains uncertain. If you haven't heard anything in a week or two the application is probably dead. To be safe it would be best to place the next application with different selections, if you can.
Those of us who have reached the point where web applications are lost have found that phone orders get approved without difficulty (888-242-3837). So, we have learned to just apply on the phone. Why this is the case is unknown. But if you get frustrated because a web application gets "lost", I suggest you apply by phone. You can monitor the status of your application by the charge on your credit card. When applying by phone it is best to have the DVD selection numbers ready (including a spare, in case one is out of stock). This will speed up the process and make sure that you get the version you want (e.g. widescreen versus fullscreen). I tried to apply on the web a few weeks ago as an experiment. Result: nothing. Last week I applied by phone. Result: I got my enrollment DVDs in six days. My experience is typical of those who have had many (dozens) of accounts before. But, as with anything to do with Columbia House: YMMV. |
Thanks Lizard...I'll wait another week and then call in my order.
|
My phone enrollments have all been going through lately. My online ones, however, never seem to go through.
