Is an order number status of "Too Be Assigned" bad?
I just placed an order with the code:
$21.95 title for $9.95, counts as one purchase credit.
So, I go to check it out and it has "Too Be Assigned" as the order number. Consequently, I just placed another order with the 2 for $17.76 deal and it already has an order number.

Now this is just anecdotal evidence, but I found this to happen (three times) when I've tried to either stack codes or used an expired code on a BML account.
I get something like:
Order -To be assigned and Price would have *****
It has always worked itself out; however, I did keep a watch on it.

I believe they are trying to screw me. Still no purchase credit for the 2 for $17.76 or the $9.95 one. The "Too Be Assigned" order is still there, but a order has appeared with that one, which says "Awaiting Credit Approval." Its is also $1 cheaper($1.99 for shipping instead of $2.99). I'll wait and see if this all works out. If not, i'll give them a call.

Just wait a few days and see what happens... An order I placed for the $17.76 sale showed up as "to be assigned" as well. And it's still there. The exact same order showed up with an order number and it's already shipped, counts towards fulfillment. Sounds exactly like your post. Most likely, that "to be assigned" nonsense will vanish in a few days. The CH web site is buggy as hell but it usually works out in the end.

Si, it's gone from my account now... Like I said a few posts ago... An order showed up with a number, it shipped, the "to be assigned" order vanished.

I just called them. Here is how it went.
The foreign CSR said the 2 for $17.76 counted a a purchase credit, but the $21.95 for $9.95 didn't. I asked him why because it plainly says, "earn one purchase credit" when you input the code(804016, says it ends 7/21/05). He said he knew nothing of the code. So I told him again that it was code 804016 and he said he would go verify it. So, I wated for a few minutes and the music cut off and he hung up on me.
So, i'm going to try and send them an email. Maybe that will have better luck.

However, a better way to handle the phone call would have been to ask "to speak to a web specialist" because you are "having trouble with a web order". The web specialist can pull up your account as you see it, verify the offer, and fix the problem.
Doesn't always work (sometimes the web specialists are busy and you have to try again) but you are more likely to get a web specialist to understand the problem than a regular CSR.
