I tried to use 807770 over the phone (on my unfulfilled account). Of course they wouldn't let me, HOWEVER she was nice and let me get one FREE title (enrollment selection only, of course) plus $5 off (Webdvd coupon) and free shipping. I got the Batman Anthology, Batman Begins DE, Naked Gun Gift Set, and a Doctor Who title for $71.71 shipped. So that's actually 9 titles, with an average of $7.97. Average it together with my $12.89 enrollment, and I got 16 titles for $84.60 ($5.29 each), and it fulfilled my account! Not bad IMHO! Although I should have taken an $11.97 title instead of Batman DE now that I think about it.

DVDMagic 10-22-05 07:44 PM

How often do the codes change? I notice there isn't one for BOGOFree and was wondering when it might come around again

dfriedland 10-23-05 05:58 PM

Using code 807770 to fufill my account:

High Tension (Unrated) 42315 Pending $0.00

George a. Romero's Land of the Dead Unrated Director 43025 Pending $0.00

Combined with the free shipping....Yay!!!!

bballing 10-23-05 06:24 PM

dfriedland- How long was that account open?

Jake77444 10-23-05 06:38 PM

dfried consider yourself lucky :P especially seeing you could stack the $5 off for first order on top of that. Wish the code worked for my unfulfilled acct, ill keep trying :)

dfriedland 10-23-05 07:48 PM

I've only had this acoount for about 2 months, but I had no money so I pretty much ignored it.

dfriedland 10-24-05 12:49 PM

When I called up to change my Land of the Dead to the widescreen version, she told me that my buy one get 1 free was still in effect if I wanted anything else. Weird..... I guess it's only on unfuffilled accounts that have had no activity on them.

esc24 10-24-05 02:21 PM

Thats not true. I have an unfulfilled account which has been open since July with no activity, but the code doesn't work for me. Maybe they are just randomly choosing accounts.

Wow, that's a lot of Unrated titles. You do realize they aren't porn, right?

Whatever they are doing, its pissing me off.

Bad.

kar10 11-04-05 08:17 AM

The triple fun cash codes aren't working anymore :(

I got lucky. I ordered 20 films, which besides Gladiator would all come out to 5.98. 126 dollars in fun cash plus cheap films = good.

sabre 11-05-05 06:02 AM

this lack of codes is annoying. the one benefit is that i have taken advantage of deals elsewhere particularly b&m places where dvds have been super cheap. especially couple of year old titles. All sales i would have given columbiahouse in the past. i have just stopped the cycling of accounts and spending that same money elsewhere.

lizard 11-06-05 09:42 AM

I don't really understand the focus on offer codes. Isn't $5.86 per DVD good enough?

If you can get them for less than that elsewhere then go for it!

Not if with a little research I can get them for $4.86. Or $3.86. Remember, if someone finds a good code he's not just saving himself $10 on a membership, but $10 for everyone who reads the thread as well.

You're right of course, I can't and I won't. But it doesn't mean I'm going to spend more than I have to for a title. If I've saved and average of $1 per title (sometimes less, sometimes much more) by always looking over codes before ordering, then I've saved $500 to $600 over the last 3 years.

bob1089 11-07-05 05:35 PM

Not to mention a bunch of us here like to find the best deals and the search is as much a hobby as watching the movies

Bill Needle 11-07-05 07:56 PM

Yeah, the thrill of the hunt!

j-bo 11-09-05 01:17 PM

$4.86 bin at wally world.

$5.50 bin at wally world.

2 right there lower than CH. ;)

Of course, those, well most titles are... TERRIBLE. Although there are some good rare finds every now and then.

Bill Needle 11-09-05 02:33 PM

Believe it or not I always get my cost per DVD under $5.50, and if there is a B1G1 code available I beat $4.86 as well.

j-bo 11-09-05 03:40 PM

I believe ya!

I've been waiting for a code for awhile now to fulfill an account. But since my kids want Batman right now, I'll go ahead and spend the extra .50 to get it now to fulfill. LOL

Cheap me!

Yeah, unfortunately impatience is the kryptonite of Columbia House bargains to be had.

j-bo 11-10-05 01:55 PM

True true.. A reprieve, hopefully a code will come along, since I noticed Batman Returns 2 disk comes out on 12.20.05 A later Christmas gift for them now!

Come on CH, a nice holiday code is in store for us cheapies!

kenbenobi 11-12-05 03:33 AM

40% off box sets appears to be dead on my account, and 806011 doesn't work anymore. Now I'm REALLY desperate for a code...

DVDMagic 11-12-05 02:45 PM

806537 will give you 65% off, despite the fact it says only good until midnight on 10/07/05.

Sames goes for 806559.

Thanks! Good code if you plan to order 3 or more selections at the same time (to avoid shipping charges).

Correction: Free shipping appears to work with only 1 or 2 selections as well in spite of it saying on 3 or more in your promotions box.

That's UP TO 65% off, with purchase of one at regular price. I couldn't find any titles at 65% off worth buying... Most weren't even 50% off...

dadaluholla 11-12-05 07:30 PM

I just used that 65% code this afternoon....pre-ordered The Island along with Devil's Rejects and Undead for $39 shipped (with webdvd $5 off). Not bad.

Does it work for CH canada?

lizard 11-14-05 08:21 AM

^US codes can never be expected to work for CH Canada. The US and Canadian versions of Columbia House are seperate and quite different in their offers.

basaro 11-15-05 05:14 PM

The B1G1 code on my account is 807712. This might work for some, won't work for others. YMMV.

Jim 11-15-05 05:52 PM

The B1G1 807712 code works on my fulfilled account; however, it changes my account from having free shipping on every DVD to needing to get 3 for free shipping. Also, every title is regular price. I can't drop a $14.95 title in the cart and get it for $5.98 like I would with the 60% off offer I normally have. I would probably use this code if I could get a 3rd item for $5.98, but absent that I think I'll have to pass.

j-bo 11-17-05 10:06 AM

Does anyone have the opinion that BMG fixed the code issues that allowed basically ANYONE to use (exploit?) a code that was for one account on any accounts?

As in. The above code ( 807712) is specific to "Jim". That just anyone (like me for instance) can't use that code like we did before? I'm sure others have use of that code, but actually got the code through email or mail.

Codes just don't seem like they are a free for all anymore I suppose is what I'm trying to say.

If that is true, I wonder what criteria they use to pass out those good codes.

I don't know about "fixed"?? But, I'd say they've "re-tweaked" the coding a bit to be a little more user specific. Kinda like it use to be a long while back when you couldn't use a code unless it was your current one or very close to next one for your account or a just previous one. Although, those were mainly the "buy 1 get $10 off unlimited", "buy 1 get 50% off unlimited", etc..

grivet 12-02-05 11:04 PM

Thanks for continuing the updates, mpaul39!

No b1g1f gold this time, but there are a couple of 65% off codes which knock down $14.95 free shipping dvds to $5.23.

Thanks for the tip. Since I had just stumbled upon a 14.95 DVD that I really wanted (The Gift), this made the 3rd-disk-for-free-shipping requirment a non-issue on my latest fulfillment order.

With free shipping plus discounted sets plus this code, I think we are in one of those "best of times" periods with CH; at least for those of us who like to fulfill with sets. I ordered Titanic CE for $20.97 (true cost* = $6.33(!)), Cleopatra 2525 for $29.97 (true cost* = $15.33) plus the one I mentioned above @ $5.23. That's a $24.12 savings over the DDD @ 20% off price.

(*during free shipping, the baseline cost per dvd drops from $5.86 to $5.31)

EL_Cangri 12-05-05 03:11 PM

Since I got desperate in waiting for a new account to through, I ordered Batman Begins: Deluxe Edition and War of the Worlds: LE with B1G1 on my closed account. For some reason, it had it and it had free shipping so i just took advantage of the offer. It came out to 24.97 for both.

I'm hoping to have 2 accounts open which I plan on fulfilling later on, since I don't want anymore DVDs until "The Wedding Crashers" comes out.

Cedrock 12-05-05 09:14 PM

anyone with $10 off 30 or $5 off 30 code for first online order?

joltman 12-06-05 06:27 AM

For $5 off 30, just go to www.columbiahouse.com/webdvd
For 10, I think you just have to wait and hope you get the e-mail for it

ITALIAN926 12-06-05 08:48 AM

U have to tell them to cut and paste the webdvd URL, not click on it. That confuses newbies. :)

Oops...
Is there a way to make a URL not be linked?
