What Type Of Deals Should We Expect From CH? FunCash Related

Since we can't get free box sets what other deals can we expect? I almost placed an order today speding my funcash on regular dvd's but I changed my mind thinking that it could be better to find out how to make the most of it.

What type of deals have anyone seen on previous funcash redemptions on regular dvd's?

What deals? With funcash, you pay their regular price. No if's and's or butts. Max out $10 and $15 titles if you want the most quantity for your money.

I agree with ITALIAN that you shouldn't hold your breath for any deals. They have lots of fun cash earning incentives, but I doubt we'll see any redemption deals (particularly considering the latest stranglehold they put on us).

If you have the (real money) bankroll- big IF, I know- the best way to redeem is still on box sets, especially if you can go way past the max $15 S/H. Barring that, go for titles you want that aren't enrollments and/or those whose regular CH price is reasonably close to their actual street price- there are a few of them.

In the past they have run 40% off box set sales (as opposed to the normal 25% off) during fun cash redemption periods.

I noticed that if you add a title from the April Foolishness sale to your Funcash cart your FC price is 10% less than normal price.

For what its worth, the Godfather Box set priced at 45.57 using funcash. Applying my $17 in funcash total came out to a little over 30 including taxes.

Applying FunCash to any of the boxsets that were involved in the 50% Mother's Day is a good deal.

I don't have the entire list (I wrote them down at home and that specialty store disappeared while the prices remain), but some of the possibilities:

- 3 Disc Billy Wilder DVD Collection - 29.96 - 10FC = $19.96

- Hepburn & Tracy Signature Collection - 29.96 - 10FC = $19.96

- Elizabeth Taylor Signature Collection - 29.96 - 10FC = $19.96

Nothing near as good as we all expected to do with our FC, but very good prices on these sets (assuming you want them ).

Nice try. Those titles don't show up as 50% off in the Funcash cart. Only in the regular cart.

I thought this was a great find. However, when you go to checkout, the extra $1.95 of a $19.95 title shows up as what you owe (your "Funcash Price")! It'll only allow you to apply $18 in Funcash in your Funcash cart because the regular price shows as $17.95. So basically instead of being a deal, it makes the titles included in the sale impossible to get for free!

i finally got some dvds which are either $9.95 or $12.95. Since i won't choose them as enrollment and otherwise would be 50% off with regular account. Its not good deal, but at least i can close this account and keep Sets as commitment choices for future.

U-571 Collector's Edition
Lethal Weapon 3
The Out-of-Towners
Dante's Peak Collector's Edition
Small Soldiers
Alaska
Galaxy Quest
Eraser

That's going to be my strategy. That, and transferring fun cash to my account I opened today in order to buy $30 sets down to $20 and have them still count as commitments (such as the Ron Burgundy Gift Set @ $29.96 - $10 FC = $19.96 and counts as a commitment).

This is probably the smartest way to go, I believe. Some extra work, for sure, but the end deal can't be beat [except by getting sets for only the shipping cost, of course].

I was going to use my $6 funcash to buy a dvd but i notice when i get to the checkout i'm being charged $2.99 for shipping. I thought shipping was only supposed to be 99 cents for preferred members?

Bill, are you sure that you can count a set purchased partly with FC as an enrollment selection?

Even if that were true, I've been having no luck lately moving FC from one account to another...

Yes that is correct, If the final cost for a set using funcash is more than 19.95 it counts as commitment. Its in their new policy.

Thanks zaq12wsx,

According to the new T&C, available on the website via the redemption page, the following terms apply:
During the 2005 redemption period(s), any item that has a purchase price of $19.95 or more after you have applied FunCash to the advertised purchase price, will count toward fulfillment of your purchase commitment.

Any FunCash dollars added to your balance in 2005 cannot be redeemed until the first redemption period in 2005.

Any FunCash you earn on an account can only be used within that same account. FunCash is non-transferable, and cannot be combined across multiple accounts for redemption.
I'm wondering how people are getting around that last one recently. This would certainly be the obvious way to make FC worthwhile again. But it isn't worth bothering for me if I have to call 85 times to get that done.

I moved my FC to a DV2 account the week before the redemption period started. It saves on the high shipping costs so the FC goes farther and if you are getting a set, you get 40% off, then the FC discount.

I did have to call 3 or 4 times before I got a CSR that would move it and that was only because I insisted I moved it before and the person went to ask and came back and said OK.

Thanks emerald9999.

Anyone have any luck moving the FC more recently, or (even better) to a new/unfilfilled account?
