I called this morning also and was told that the free one gets free shipping, but that the free shipping on 3 did not work with the b1g1. She also told me to call back tomorrow to order because they have some Thursday only phone specials.

i ordered a tv box set that counted as 2 fullfillment, then i got 2 free, they said no free shipping unless i ordered 3 movies that are paid for, so i added a 1$ title in there and got the free shipping. took a little coaxing, but they did it

I posted this on OP's other thread, but I'm wondering what other Thursday callers are able to get per the advice emerald99 received?

Thanks xpfshost. What were the details? i.e., how expensive a title could you get with the certificate, and how spendy a title did you need to buy to get it? TIA

Anyone else get anything?

I also got offered the deal this morning. You cannot get a free set or a Criterion. Or anything newer than 60 days. I guess anything that is available as an enrollment will work.

I'm going to try calling back again and see if I can get someone to give me something better on the free deal.

Also, if you want to choose the free title on the phone they will just add it to your order, you don't need to go through the certificate hassle.

The order details just showed up today for the order I placed yesterday. My "free" movie showed up as a separate order for which I was charged. Did anyone else have this happen? I called up again and the CSR gave me a credit for the amount of the second order so it will work out OK in the end.

so is the b1g1 deal on the phone dead as of 10pm EST March 26th?
if it is still working tomorrow I will call in an order, but I thought I'd check with you guys first.
oh, and if it is still working - you're not limitied to b1g1 right? you ccna do b2g2 or b3g3 right? but you can't do b3g3 and get free shipping on 3 at the same time can you?
and the free titles have free shipping regardless if the buy 4 get free shipping applies or not right?
sorry for all the ?s which will be pointless if this phone deal is dead anyway

no... its only B1G1 for each order you place. not B2G2 at one time or order.... it works for each order placed for an unlimited amount of times!! free shipping doesnt work on the B1G1 deal.

ie: so if 1 wanted to fulfill there account at one time using the B1G1 deal. you have to purchase 2 DVDs at $19.95 or higher and then you get a free dvd with that particular order. a better way would be to fulfill the account if you need to purchase 2 dvds by doing it with two different orders. that way you get 2 dvds for free when you purchase 2 at regular price. but you have to pay the shipping cost on each order but its worth it if you can get 2 dvds for free.

You also lose the ability to use the $5 off first time web orders deal when fulfilling piecemeal like this (it has a $30 minimum). Since the value of a "free" DVD is approximately $5.86, at current membership costs, skipping "free shipping for three" and the $5 web coupon makes using B1G1 in 2 orders for fulfillments a bit of a loser.

If free shipping is not in effect (as will be the case starting tomorrow) then it is a bit better deal: you would pay an extra $4.98 in shipping, and forgo the $5 web coupon, to get two "free" DVDs. So, those 2 free DVDs cost $9.98. In my view, it's a case of "why bother?".

Good point, with the caveat that I used B1G1 to get 4 Criterions for the price of 2 with the $5.00 discount. I had to pay shipping because free shipping wasn't available at the time.

I thought you don't pay shipping on the one that is free? So, in other words if I did 2 separate orders over the phone of b1g1 I would only pay 99 cents shipping on each order....right? (the preferred membership rate)

I am pretty sure that one does pay shipping on the freebie (unless a free shipping deal is in effect). And 99¢ shipping doesn't apply since we were discussing fulfillment strategies.

As a preferred member I believe you would pay 2 x 99¢ shipping on each order for B1G1. That is what I was charged a couple of weeks ago.

It would be nice if one could get B2G2 on the web site since one could then apply the "$5 off first time web orders" discount. As you have found, results can vary widely when talking to a CSR. It may well be possible to place a fulfillment order on the phone and get the $5 discount "because I am having trouble placing this order on the web" but it is more trouble that it is worth IMHO.
