Anyone know how to get free shipping?

Since I joined CH in November of last year, I have kept one account open and cycled through another.

On the opened, fulfilled account I have always managed to get free shipping. It was either offered, the 3 for free was available, or one of the mailing codes ended up provided free shipping.

As was mentioned in previous threads, the only working code seems to be the bonus $10 in fun cash, which does not include free shipping.

Is anyone aware of any current codes for fulfilled accounts that involve free shipping? There's gotta be a free shipping code out there somewhere!

Thanks.

Dave

Ditto. I did that on my account I keep open. There's always free shipping on 3+ titles. I had called and wanted to cancel, then they offered me those options mentioned above.

Great!
Thanks for the info.
Before I make the call, is there a code associated with this that they provide, or is it just activated through the phone call?
Thanks.

There is no code, but this offer is usually given as an incentive to keep your account open when people try canceling a membership.

I just called and spoke to a CSR about it and they said that there are no free shipping deals available.
Should I call and say that I want to cancel and ask no questions first?
I have a lot of Fun Cash $ and don't want to risk losing them.
Thanks.

You are confusing things. There is no free shipping code "deal" right now. You must call and attempt to cancel. When they ask why you want to cancel, say it's because of shipping. They should offer you that option for "3+ free shipping", which will always remain on your account.

YMMV, I only did this once, but I had no problems. But this was last year, before they started making a lot of the recent changes, etc.

I understand, but do they always offer you a deal before you cancel?
I'm worried that they will just cancel the account and I will lose my fun cash.

They will probably offer you one of two things if you try to cancel:

1) free shipping when you buy three or more for the life of the account

or

2) order only option - no cards to return and no monthly director's selection

If they do not offer the free shipping, just tell them that you have changed your mind and would like to keep the account open.

They always offer something, I think they offer the "no directors selection" first, then if you decline that, they should offer you the 3+ free shipping. That's the way I remember it, but that was about 6 months ago. I have called and cancelled since then, but those are accounts I cycle through, and I wasn't paying attention enough to remember what was offered. I will be calling and cancelling within a week, so I can post my findings again if you haven't got it taken care of by then. Good luck, let us know what happens.

Right. And even if they close your account, I believe you can re-open it, and the funcash will still be there.

I just tried but it didnt work. They saw I had $100.00 in funcash that I could redeem in April. I couldnt think of a good resonse to explain why I'd give up $100 because of a 99 cent per dvd shipping charge.

The free shipping is not coming up in my cart on my dvd club account (fulfilled) or my tv dvd account (unfulfilled). However on my wish list (dvd fulfilled) account it says "free shipping". The last time my wish list said free shipping & the cart didn't register it I emailed & ch. The response was that I could place my order by email to receive the free shipping. I didn't end up ordering at the time. However, you guys might want to email & just ask if they'll do it.

The CSR said the discount would be available to me online within 48 hours.

To those of you that have had success with this: did it show up for you in a day or two, or was it instant?

Who knows with CH. Maybe it didn't go through, or there really is a wait period.

Thanks.

Well, free shipping does not show up my account when I try to place an order online. I even go to my cart and click to check out, and the charge is still there. However, I called CH and a CSR told me that when she puts 3 DVDs in my cart, shipping comes up as free.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I don't know how long it takes to show up online. Sometimes I notice it on my account, sometimes I don't, seems buggy to me. But I haven't ordered over the web with this account, so I'm not sure. When I call in, there is always free shipping on my account, I've never had a problem. I say wait a couple more days, and if it doesn't show up, call back and ask again. Or you could just order over the phone, and you'll be all set. Unless of course the web deals are better, in which case, you could call and get a web specialist to process your order, tell them you were given free shipping on your account, and see if they can put it through for you.

You have to "earn" these deals with CH!

Well, almost 1 weeks has passed and the free shipping still does not show online.

It works for phone orders.

I called and spoke to the web dept. and they said it will show, but don't know when.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Call back again and see if another CS person offers the Free Shipping, if not ask about it. You never know unless you ask.
