I have free shipping today

Dont know if anyone already noticed. My account is already fulfilled if this makes any difference. On the link to "The Joy Of Giving", the Deal-of-the-day is RUNAWAY JURY for $7.95. I added it to my cart, earned $2 FC, and had FREE SHIPPING. ahhhhh

I do also.

Completly free shipping, on anything but a fun cash order. Whether it's a single $7.95 title (as you said), or Ultimate Matrix.

Free shipping is here at least for today, at least for fulfilled accounts (I don't have an unfulfilled to try).

I'm seeing the same thing on an account I just fulfilled (haven't even received the package yet). Any title I put in had free shipping. 1 title, 2 titles, box set, didn't matter.

I can't believe this thread isn't more active. We can't be the only 3 seeing this. Possibly a website glitch to take advantage of.

From the website:

"Special Bonus: FREE Shipping... Buy Now!
This is in addition to your regular offer. This fantastic offer ends Monday, 1/03/04 @ 11:59p.m.! This offer does NOT apply to purchases of FunCash selections, or the The Coby DVD player."

Wonder how fast I can get a new membership approved!

People lament over the 3 for free for months, now we get an no-restriction free shipping and it's a morgue in here!

For instance, anyone with an unfulfilled account can get Matrix Ultimate for $59.95/no shipping and fulfill their account. What an absolute no-brainer if you plan on getting this anyway.

I have it too. Anyone notice that the end date was January of THIS year? 1/3/05 is a Monday though, as they say. Do you really think they're opening up free shipping for the rest of the year?

Really. A several month fun cash redemption period, and 3 months of free shipping? What's next, a permanent 40% box set sale? Now if they can only keep their studio selections in line...

Had it on my unfulfilled account. Glad I read this, since I was able to fulfill (due to 5 off web, free shipping, and 3 for 25) with 6 DVDs for $45 shipped, bringing me to 62.40 for 12 (enrollments + fulfillments) = 5.20/DVD, almost as good as the 5 for 25.

Speaking for myself, I think I'll take advantage of the 3 for $25 offer, Free Shipping, $5 Funcash on select titles and Blockbuster's $8 trade-in offer in order to get the Matrix boxset for ~$11.

Buying 12 DVDs that qualify for 3 for $25 costs $100 [$107 with taxes for me]. If you use two accounts to do this, the cost is $90 [$100 - $5 coupon * 2][this also assumes the $5 Funcash offer is working on your account]. Trade-in total value at Blockbuster is $96. $5 *12 [DVDs] is $60, enough Funcash for the Matrix.

Well, you could always take your 5 @ $2.45 and 9 @ $70 ($75- $5), and sell all 14 to BB for $112 from your $72.45 investment. Plus you'll have $9 fun cash.

Problem is, that's all BB store credit, and based on the fact I do zero business with BB normally, I'm not intrigued.

I'd rather go mow a couple of lawns. Sounds easier.

Cool - thanks OP, 2nd straight membership with $5.20 average cost - and this one was even better because there were many more to choose from.

Fulfilled with:

Deliverance
Touching the Void
Out of Sight
Matchstick Men
Deep Impact SE
The Court Jester

It appears that free shipping is on all accounts, including unfulfilled ones. And it works fine with the $5 off web site and box sets like LOTR: The Return of the King: Extended Edition.

Thought I'd have to wait until next month at least to see if I could get free shipping on a pre-order of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and LOTR: ROTK. (I have $10 off, so I threw in a much wanted $19.95 DVD for $9.95 as the "third".)

Thanks to ga_con & Bill Needle for the threads giving the "heads up" on free shipping.

Yes, I just recieved an email that states earn $10.00 funcash on your first DVD purchase with regulare club price $19.95 or higher.

In that email it states:

This special funcash offer lasts one week only, so take advantage now. Plus get FREE SHIPPING from now until the end of the year and really put your savings into action.

I ordered Harry Potter PoA and got $12 funcash, and free shipping. Along with the $4 of funcash on the account already the funcash might actually get used this time. $16.00 funcash can get me Troy for a decent price.

I just got an account opened yesterday (first new account in a whopping 8 months!) and saw the free shipping offer as soon as I logged in. I figured I'd try it with ROTK like I did with Two Towers last year, but I couldn't get the extra $10 off to kick in. Ended up just getting HP:Azkaban, Shrek 2, and Out of Time for $45.

Probably just as well, considering the agonizing wait for LOTR:TT last year. First In, Last Out...

Like most CH sale offers, you have to buy one at full price that is equal to or greater in value than the one that you get for $10 off. That is why CH sales are usually useless except when one needs a "third" for "free shipping for three". Since ROTK was likely your highest value DVD, you can't get it on sale. You also can't get pre-orders at sale prices, just at the pre-order price. So, you had two strikes against you trying to get ROTK at a lower price than usual. Nevertheless, with free shipping the relative cost of the set works out to about $17, which isn't too shabby!

I tend to get major pre-orders a few days, at most, after release day. Don't know why you had bad luck with The Two Towers last year.

Ah, that's probably the part of the equation I was overlooking! I knew there was something I did differently last year to get LOTR down to $16-17...

No worries, though. I had $22 in Amazon gift certificates lying around and noticed today that they have LOTR:ROTK on pre-order for $24, so I went ahead and ordered that for minimal cost (with a $10 Bob Marley DVD to qualify for free shipping).

You could have lowered that Amazon price by 10% to $21.59 using their "share the love" discount. But $24 isn't too bad for LOTR:ROTK:EE.

I did that with Star Wars and never got the 10% awarded after my friend's copy shipped, so I'm a bit skeptical of that system. Probably just one that fell through the cracks, but I'm not much of a fan of those relay-the-spam-to-a-friend approaches in the first place, and now even less so.

Are you aware of the Share The Love forum here at DVDTalk? About the time that Star Wars was shipping a lot of people were losing their STL discounts. You might want to contact Amazon to see if you can still get credit.
BEWARE! STL Discounts Disappearing After Order Ships

Also, on that forum are plenty of people more than willing to be spammed with offers of STL, so you don't have to "spam" a friend.

I wasn't aware of that forum. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I guess I can call and follow up if I feel so inclined, but home renovation and working on the road a few days a week makes it a somewhat low priority right now...
