No the 6th DVD just reduces your committment from 4 to 3 (depending on your code)

I tried to place an order using the web link and the discount showed up, but the website went haywire (all of a sudden I had a dozen or so of the same Director's Selection in my cart!!!) and when I finished cleaning up and tried to place the order again the $5 discount was gone. It doesn't show up now when I login using the link, doesn't appear in the "Details" section where you can read about the various deals available. ACK! Is it even worth calling in about?

If you really can't get it to work, you can call CH and ask for a "web specialist" who can pull up your account on his or her screen just like you see it. Explain the problem to them; in the past, I have found the web specialists to be very helpful.

If you really don't get the offer anymore it would appear that you have placed an order by mistake. Check your account history to see. Or call Columbia House and ask a CSR to take a look at your account.

Clearing cookies didn't work. I think the site must have registered my attempted order as an actual order for purposes of tracking discount link usage. Rats. I'll probably wait for another free shipping promo and then call it in, tell my story, hope for the best. I certainly have plenty of movies to watch in the meantime, huge backlog of sealed dvds sitting here.

I've personally had a lot of trouble with the $5 off coupon. I submit an order of 2 19.95 movies to complete my commitment and use the coupon, in the subtotal it shows both movies counting toward commitment and then the $5 off. When I get the order though it shows one at 19.95 and the other at 14.95, only counting one commitment since the other is no longer at 19.95. Has anyone had luck getting these through?

I've never had a problem with the $5 coupon, but I have had the second title drop to the buy 1 get one at X% discount price (and therefore not count as a commitment) no matter how many times I tried the "choose how many." But then I back out, clear cookies, etc. and most times it will work. One time I recall not noticing until I got to the receipt screen when it was of course too late, but a (relatively) simple call to Columbia House restored the correct pricing.

I tried two different machines at 3 different times today, and even though I could log in using the web link, I never got either the popup or the webdvd discount.
Perhaps it's just down today...if it doesn't work soon, I'll just order and then send an email requesting the $5 credit.

I used the $5 off link for a pre-order (3 DVDs, to fulfill my commitment). But my account history page at their site doesn't reflect the discount. I've been emailing them several times to try to get that fixed - one time they said contact them AFTER the order ships and they'll credit it to me, another time they said they'd credit it to me before it ships but now their website shows I have 2 of the same order, etc.

ruk, that's the link I used.
Now I can't login at all, instead getting the dreaded error message even after clearing cookies.
I wonder if they'll ever get serious about fixing their website?

Yeah I've noticed everything usually gets fixed by Monday.
I don't know why it takes their system so long to update your account status. I bought the Chicago Bulls set for $28.96 after $8 in funcash yesterday (came out to $21 something before shipping) and my account still says I have 1 more to buy.

Well they did update my account status:
The original account code I used was the TV Club where you had to buy 4 DVDs, I have no idea where they get 6 especially when it said I'd only have to buy 1 more right before I placed that order on Saturday.

Update, since they credited my account, they didn't adjust the prices properly so my copies of Mystic River (3 Disc) and Panic Room (3 Disc) were only $11.97, making my committment still need 2 more.
They adjusted them both to $19.95, they said in 2 days it should update to showing I've fufilled my account.
Also the CSR I was talking to was pretty stupid, saying "Funcash orders don't count towards your committments no matter how much they are."
