TV Club - HDL Code - Expired???

Just now (Sunday 6/13) I got off the phone with a CSR and she said that the HDL code had expired and thus the only deal I could get was the regular deal with 4 committments. Has anyone else tried to call in an order today? I will probably wait a while and try later and see what happens with another CSR.

Well, I tried again and got the same result. The first time the CSR simply said that the HDL code had expired and could not be used. This time I thought it was going to work as she went through the whole process....but in the end she said my obligation was 4 DVDs not 2 DVDs. Then I reminded her that I was using HDL and that is when she said it was expired. She tried to convince me that the "regular" deal was about the same since it was 4 DVDs over 2 years instead of 2 DVDs over 1 year....but I said no thanks.

So I am beginning to think that the HDL code is now dead. Has anyone found any other code worth using for the TV Club?

When was the last time you tried to enter a new membership with HDL? I opened an account on Tuesday and the only e-mail I got was the introductory "we'll let you know if your membership has been accepted" message. This was different from my previous attempts where my membership was accepted, and I got an e-mail with an account number within two days.

As noted, I tried to do HDL's today (6/13) over the phone. I have had a bunch of those accounts approved in the past couple of months...but had very poor luck trying online. (After getting the "HDL expired" the second time over the phone I went ahead today and entered an online order....but I doubt that it will be approved.)

maineiac, did you call the 1-800-861-9505 number? You might also try again on Monday, since maybe the Sunday staff isn't as informed as the weekday staff.

I hope it's not expired. I was going to set up another account later this week.

Yes I called the 9505 number. Unfortunately the CSRs seemed very informed...as they knew what the HDL code was....but were unable to use it for me. Hopefully it was some kind of glitch....but let's see what happens as others try to used HDL over the next couple of days.

I was able to get an HDL code processed properly just a few minutes ago over the phone.

Update....however as noted below, I think this application is not going to be approved.

Depending on whom you ask, it is never a good day to deal with CH. I would NEVER say that, though.

called in today 6/14 around 8:40 East Coast time, and the CSR said the code didnt work on their system. However, my zip code is 28601, and I think the HDL code depends on the zip. Is it right that anyone who still can apply has different zip?

HDL Not Valid by phone. . .REALLY!

I just tried (Tues. 6/15 4pm PST) both with the 9505 phone number and was told the code was invalid. She kept wanting me to join with the default offer.

So I then called Customer Service and asked if she could do an enrollment order for me and she said yes. Gave her the code, and then same thing. She then put me on hold and HUNG UP ON ME. Nice service.

Geez.

While as noted above I was able to get the CSR to process an HDL application for me on Monday....I now think it is likely that it is not being approved. Usually, long before this I have a temporary charge on my account....but not so this time. So I am beginning to think that the code may indeed be dead.

Has anyone actually gotten an approval on an HDL application they applied for on or after Sunday, June 13?

Yet the website is still taking orders for this promo. You'd think they would remove the code from the site if they knew it was expired.

I tried last night on the 9505 # and was told the code was not showing up in her system. I am going to try it on line and see if it works.

Just tried it online... Appears to have worked.

Will update once I either get my order or don't.

Yeah, I've been having trouble too. I got this message after trying to get them to look for my account.

Phone-in order don't get email notifications of acceptance/approval - only online orders. The CC (temp) charge is the only/first indicator of success.

Good News!!!

I just got a temporary charge on my CC for the HDL account that I called in on Monday. Let's see if that translates into a real charge. A much longer wait than usual....but maybe things are going to be okay after all. I won't be certain of course until the account is opened and it actually shows that my obligation is only 2 committments not 4....
