the more the the better. I've been saying for the longest that they should have an international sub-genre or something, glad to hear they will be doing that, we just have to make sure that they put most of all international stuff in there, since there are certain titles that might not be known as foreign to most due to the title translation, main language of DVD such as the case with Tube which has the Korean language as a stereo track and the english as 5.1DD
EDIT/UPDATE: so I got a chance to look and the new genre's not bad, I'm happy except for a couple of things: 1. Why are most of those spanish titles at regular price? no sales, price, no 3/25$ if they are 14.95, nothing. 2. What is up, with the Urban section? is it urban because is mostly black actors/rappers or what? 3. Any one knows if columbiahouse will carry "In this World" is a Sundance release and they have almost every sundance released DVD except of course for 2 i wanted but now they finally have Other Side of the Bed. anyway, it has been a good addition., |
any updates ....?

Excellent work BuddhaWake...
Thank you for the hard work.... Pro-B |
do you have any recomendations? I've never seen any of these but swept away has me intrigued.
|
I own about 80% of the above titles...some on R2 discs....as to recommendations...
I loved Place Vendome (sadly the Wellspring version is PAL to NTSC port...quality is quite good though) Stolen Kisses....I would recommend the Criterion version... The Lover is EXCELLENT!! Jules and Jim...again I would recommend the Criterion version (in fact look at the entire Donel boxset) Wild Reeds....excellent film, great Bouchez.....but poor DVD. Bottom line the ones that you might want to pick up from the titles above...The Lover, The Road Home, and Z. Pro-B |
thanks pro. here's another new one:
Akira Kurosawa's Dreams #3394004 |
Are there any other Miyazaki titles other than Mononoke available? Would love to pick up Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Serviceas part of my enrollment selections.
Thanks in advance. |
I haven't seen them. Aren't they released by Disney or one of its companies? that would deter them from showing at CH.
|
You can get the Miyazaki titles at the Disney Movie Club, along with the Director's Cut of Cinema Paradiso.

some new ones:
Crimson Rivers Wasabi |
thank you for the update BuddhaWake

irreversible is a new one too. for some reason wasabi and crimson rivers are not in the international sub-genre which was my fear all along that they won't put things that should belong there just because... well is CH after all.

Latin: CAVE!
Just a quick note: the "WAR AND PEACE" edition mentioned above is by "Kultur" - to quote Gary Tooze: "To crop a 2.30:1 film to 1.33:1 is tantamount to making an entirely different motion picture. The Kultur Region 1 DVD bears no resemblance to the RusCiCo. The Kultur has burned in subs and minimal extras in comparison. I am so surprised that someone took the trouble to do this and put it in a Boxset. As far as I am concerned the Kultur DVD is a joke of mammoth proportions."
They also have the very much superior "RusCiCo" edition - get that if you want to see this epic! Just a "beware" and thanks to the "Beaver" for pointing this out... . S |
