Time to use Fun Cash!

I just got done ordering Roots for $5.99 shipped on 1 account, and The Looney Toons Golden Collection for $15.70 shipped on another. I will be ordering Taken later with purely fun cash on yet another account, it's to bad it has so many discs, shipping will be expensive.

Just ordered Taken for $7.99 shipped.

I think he means that if you sign up/fulfill/cancel then you wouldn't have fun cash because your prior accounts would be closed. Of course, you can have fun cash but I wouldn't leave accounts open and keep buying DVD's just to save up for fun cash. Because in the end you're paying a lot more.

I think it is important to have read this thread in order to understand how someone can have so much funcash without keeping an account forever

...and a vivid imagination.

I'm sure some did get a few accounts rolled over, but I doubt anyone got 100 accounts rolled over.

I just closed an account and had the CH rep. transfer the funcash I earned into my other account without any problems. I just had to tell her the account number of the other account and it was good to go.

Just use the online help to transfer your fun cash. I've done this twice now with no problem at all.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Log into your account, click on the Club Help tab in the top right, then click on Contact Us in the left hand side of the page. Then choose FunCash from the drop down menu. You will need a list of all the previous accounts you have had.

Hope this helps

What's really funny is how consistantly inconsistant CH is. I have had no trouble at all rolling up my FC over several accounts even though their own rules don't allow it.

This is from the Funcash terms and conditions:
Any FunCash dollars added to your balance in 2003 cannot be redeemed until the first redemption period in 2003.

Any FunCash you earn on an account can only be used within that same account. FunCash is non-transferable, and cannot be combined across multiple accounts for redemption.

FunCash will be forfeited if you leave the DVD Club for any reason - whether you choose to quit or if Columbia House cancels your Club membership for any reason.
So when it works great, but don't be too surprised if they say no. As I stated before though, the online way I described above has worked pretty well.

yeah I know about all that, but sometimes it is the inconsistencies that sometimes makes CH great.

I was all excited about being able to do this, but then I received this email from CH (they screwed up my last name, which explains the end of the email):

Thank you for your e-mail message.

Re: 50xxxxxxxx

Any FunCash you earn on an account can only be used within
that same account. FunCash is non-transferable, and cannot
be combined across multiple accounts for redemption.

FunCash will be forfeited if you leave the DVD Club
for any reason, whether you choose to quit or if
Columbia House cancels your Club membership.

Our files are being corrected to reflect the change
indicated, in your name.

If we may be of further service, please let us know.

If one gets rejected by online help, would it be unwise to try again?

I'm also curious if this is still working.

It will not hurt to try again, but I recommend calling CH. You will probably have to try a few times, and it will probably take a Panamanian CSR. This worked for me a few weeks ago.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but didn't want to start a new one (or get slammed about not using the search button ).

Just wanted to throw out a suggestion for what to use that supposedly expiring fun cash on that is burning a hole in our collective pockets. I had a whopping $10 Fun Cash that I didn't want to rot away (or have to request to carry it over since I'll likely close this account soon). I looked at all the $10 and under titles hoping to find something I liked that I didn't already own and nothing really jumped out at me. I would have ended up paying tax and shipping anyway, so it wasn't like I was getting it for free. I then took a look through the "Sets and Collections" section, trying to find something in the low $20's and under that would be a deal with the roughly $6 off after the unfortunate "extra charges". I came across one set of which I had neither of the two movies offered. For some fortunate reason (of which many of the grizzled CHDVD vets already know), the fun cash comes off the reduced price of a set as opposed to the full price of an individual title. The two movie set I found was at a price of $16.17, and when it was all said and done, I got for $9.82.

(Ok, ok. Get on with this freakin' epic already!)

The title, you ask? Wayne's World 1 & 2 - The Complete Epic.

So, to make a long story longer, I thought this might be a reasonable suggestion for those of you who were going to let your hard earned fun cash fade away.

Happy Holidays!

I just ordered The Rambo Ultimate Collection for $14.96 after $18 of funcash. I look at this way, now I have half an enrollment available come February and for much cheaper.

I've mentioned this before, but when I close my regular CH accounts I always transer the funcash to my DV2 account and save it up to buy boxsets at 40% off with free shipping.

So far I've gotten the following free this way on that account:

Nip/Tuck Season 1
Pink Panther Collection
Bergman Collection
Once Upon a Time in Italy

My next freebie, just to bring my funcash under $10, is the low-priced 5 Film Noir: Killer Classics for $18 in funcash.

The only hassle with this is that I have to call in the order because the website doesn't recognize that boxsets are available at the reduced price with funcash. I really wish they'd fix that.

Yeah, I waited until Dec. 14 before using my funcash, as I was waiting for Lord of the Rings ROTK EE to be available -- because no preorders with funcash. The nice part was that special sale that just happened to coincide, which made it only $23.99. I picked up ROTK EE for $24 funcash with $6.99 shipping (!) and .42 tax. So I was pretty happy to get that for $7.41 delivered

Good job of planning ahead (plus a little luck). Well done!
