CH cases for Total Recall and Basic Instinct
I'm about to renew my membership and want to order them. However, I don't want that fugly metal round can or the clear plastic case. Anybody know what type of cases these are shipping in?
Thanks,

I'm curious about the Basic Instinct case (also thinking about ordering it). I didn't even know there was more than one packaging. I've only seen the one that comes with the ice pick.
Can someone post pics of the different cases? ...or explain the differences?
Thanks
PS I know in the dvd ads for CH the picture used to show the round metal dvd case.

I haven't opened an account for awhile but I'm almost willing to bet the two will be in regular cases, which I've seen at Walmart. Basically it's like the new T2 UE where you get a cardboard cover with a regular amaray case inside.

There are only two that I have seen for the SE version: the clear/ice case and the normal keep case. The only place I've ever seen the keep case version is at Walmart. Every one else seems to have the ice case. I have no idea which version CH stocks.

Basic instinct
I just got basic instinct last month and it was the plain case, no ice pick, and I think our Walmart offers both, I know they are now offering both the New total recall package, and the round tin. i like the New SE case more...does it offer more? i forgot to compare the two when i saw them today

Well, I ordered Basic Instinct from CH, and it was the icepick in limited edition case
I'm really not into the tins or "special" cases, but at least it fits well between the others; however, there's no freaking title on the side! I'm going to wait and pick up Total Recall at a B&M so I can be sure to get the keep case.
DangerMouse, or anyone interested, I have an extra T2 tin (no booklet or Amaray, just the tin). I don't know what kind of booklet comes in the newer version, but I know mine needs to be wedged between the tin and the case to keep the case from slipping out, so a simple insert card won't work. If anyone wants the tin, I'll mail to them just for the postage in my PayPal account. Probably be $2 or less; let me know and I'll find out the postage before you commit.
Cheers,
-AC

So does anybody have any idea when CH will start shipping the non- tin and ice pick cases for these two films? Or if they will at all (although I'm assuming they will a la T2 Ultimate Edition)?

Thought it was discussed somewhere that the special cases were available only at Walmart.
For Basic Instinct, it's an R-rated version at Walmart. While I believe only Unrated version is available at CH (referred to the newest catalog). The unrated version comes with an ice pick pen.
So, there are three versions available.
1. R-rated version without ice pick at Walmart
2. R-rated version with ice pick
3. Unrated version, comes with ice pick

If you really want the Unrated Basic Instinct and hate the ice pick, simply write a nice letter to Artisan explaining the situation to them and ask them to send you the unrated B.I. keepcase.
I did this and received it in the mail the other day. And, yes, it is the unrated case.
I've only seen the rated version keepcase in stores.

I bought the unrated, non-ice pick version from Best Buy. They sell it for either $8.99 or $9.99.
As for Total Recall, I think I got my non-metal circle version from CH, but I don't remember...
