Dollar General 50% off Movies U Buy DvDs & BDs

Credit goes to Rumble Bee (initial post) & bayoozen (verification) on bluray.com for posting that DG has their Movies U Buy DvDs & BDs for 50 % off!

Initial thinking is that this sale is just for this week so itís off to the races for me.

^Thanks for the tip. I ended up finding & buying (The Original) Last House on The Left
It ended up coming to $2.48. I've already got the old MGM disc (Yet to get this on BD) but at least this is somewhat of a nice double-dip thanks to the new extras. For sure, I'll listen to the cast commentary for the Oct Challenge.

BTW, it was extremely refreshing to see this title mixed in with the 15 frickin' copies of Son of God

I'm a little late to this but I hit up two stores today. store #1 on the left, store #2 on the right. Store #1 had a sign for the sale, store #2 did not and the cashier didn't know about the sale.

I would have been much more all over this sale if Dollar General brought back the Midnight Madness line back this year (Hellraiser,Children/Corn,Elvira) instead of so many SyFy originals

Now through 11/30/2019 Dollar General has buy one get one free on $4.95 titles from Movies U Buy.
As always selection varies greatly from store to store.
I picked up the following titles on Blu-Ray: Dirty Harry/Magnum Force, Coma (1978), Battle of the Bulge (1965), Fort Apache (1948), Manchurian Candidate (1962) and Big Trail (1930, early feature shoot in 65MM in a 2.1:1 aspect ratio).

opps--the BOGO sale on $4.95 titles was only through 11/27. tried to buy more titles today and the store manager explained that the tags sent to all the stores had incorrect dates (to 11/30), and they had to run around the store and pull all the incorrect tags.

Re: Dollar General 50% off Movies U Buy DvDs & BDs

This was the DG thread I found - so I'm dumping it here.

There is a glitch - at the distrubtion level.

Among the new titles added; this would be/should be in the cardboard rack near the door of DVDs...

"The Taking Of Pelham One Two Three: 42nd Anniversary Edition"

"Buffalo Bill And The Indians"

"Desperately Seeking Susan"

"The Great Train Robbery"

Also seen was "The Long Goodbye" and "Married To Mob". Didn't take either, I own TLG and the other I didn't care for.

So what's the glitch? These Kino Lorber remastered, special editions (mostly) but are listed as "Mill Creek Entertainment" titles. All of the above is priced at $5.95 each. An excellent deal.

These were the only ones seen and I went though their entire inventory. That's it at my store.

Was hoping to find...

"Zapped", "The Manhattan Project", "The Deadly Bees", "The Train", "Lady From Louisianna", "Killer Fish", "Green Ice", "Meteor" and "Black Sunday". No such luck. But I don't know what is available at other DGs.

My town only has one store.

Another store, found...

"Thunderbolt And Lightfoot" - took home.

Also saw "The Good. The Bad. And Ugly: 50th Anniversary" and "Delirious" (John Candy).
