I ordered a copy shortly after the original post, back when it was "just one left" and then it went back and forth between being "in" stock and "out". Today I got this e-mail:

Man, this is a fantastic price for a great set. I'd even consider the current Amazon price of $45 a good deal. I went back and checked--I paid $68 for it nearly 6 years ago. I don't feel too bad since I've watched every episode and my kids have even re-watched a few seasons.

Free shipping, too. Thanks for the tip! This partly makes up for all the other Christmas sales that (so far) haven't happened. I remember when certain Wal-Mart stores had quantities of these for sale maybe 2 (?) years ago for $40, but the only store I found with the display was sold out.

While I've certainly watched various episodes over the years, am looking forward to viewing it a bit more critically, to see how much material other series borrowed, particularly Inspector Gadget.

I did order one through Rakuten.com and I got an email last night saying that it shipped! Checking the website right now says that they are back in stock.

I also ordered the Band of Brothers/The Pacific Blu-ray set for 28.99 but it stills says that my order is "processing."
