This is the second time that Walmart.com has apparently mispriced a complete series set (they did this with the Weeds: Complete Series Blu-Ray set a couple months back).

Well that set's not out yet (it also comes out November 5th), so the jury is still out on that one.

I will say, though, looking at my orders, that it's showing as processing, and they haven't adjusted the price after the fact or tried canceling the order.

The only other pre-order price error I bought was the LOTR theatrical trilogy set for $9.99. That actually came through without a problem and I ordered it a month or two in advance.

Took a shot as well. I usually find out about these errors after Wal Mart changes the item to being out of stock. Free ship to home too! I hate ship to store at my local store. It takes forever.

The first season is based on a 30 minute format, while the later three seasons were restructured to use an hour long format. I've seen a handful of episodes of each format. While the first season was fine, for me the hour long format was so much better and really gave all the guest stars an opportunity to shine. So if you do end up with it due to Walmart honoring the pricing, don't judge it just by the first season.

I'm in. I first noticed this set in a DVD catalog that arrived last week. Under normal circumstances it might have made my wants list in two or three years, but this is too good to not try. MeTV has been running Naked City at 1am Sunday nights/Monday mornings, and while I haven't seen it lately, this is not a blind buy. Not every episode is a gem...some feel like the script was rushed or the budget too tight...but most of what I've seen is excellent. Gritty. Nuanced. And the sights of New York City from that time are fascinating. Put a camera on a street corner or a rooftop, and IMHO you have an instant page out of Life Magazine and a sharp counterpoint to the studio-bound, backlot-bound TV comedies of that era that typically come to mind. (At this point, I should also plug Route 66.)

The set is from Image, so I don't expect them to screw up the episodes with fake widescreen or some other faux pas, but I do hope they avoid that cardboard packaging with pockets for the disks that scratch them up before you ever get a chance to put them in the player.

The movie and the TV series are different but equally good ... I was about 10 years old when the TV series first aired. I didn't watch it then ... The Untouchables or Rawhide were more my "cup of tea". When Naked City came out on DVD a couple years ago, I bought one of the multi disc volumes. After watching it, I started buying the other single and multi disc DVDs. I think I ended up with about 75% of the available DVDs but they were already OOP and expensive. I have already spent over $100 on Naked City DVDs.

Needless to say, I really like the show ... $27+ (w/ST) for the Complete Series is a steal for such a high quality show.

I placed an order earlier this morning and hope they honor this obvious price mistake. Amazon has the MSRP as $179.98, so the question is: How has Walmart handled such errors?
Well, here's an earlier example from The Consumerist, although at a much lower overall price differential.

For those of us that have already ordered this set at Walmart's posted price, our chances of receiving the set at the advertised price would probably be increased if the rest of you don't order this set from Walmart.com.

It's really a bad series ... I doubt if the rest of you will enjoy ;) ...

I've managed to cut way back on blind buys in 2013, but I'm willing to give it a go at this price. Works out really well with other rebates (Discover card is currently offering 5% cash back on online purchases).
