Coupons work on preorders.

Many classic films are available like Random Harvest and Mr. Roberts for $3.49. Consider this a get them now before they become MOD on the archive.

Dear God, this is dirt cheap, especially with the free shipping. Don't know yet if I'm going to buy anything, but it sure explains why my business isn't selling any dvd's!

Thanks for the heads up on this. Bought 12 titles

War of the Worlds
The Accused
Cannery Row
Catch 22
Point Blank
Operation Crosbow
White Hunter Black Heart
Jack Frost
Cheyenne Autumn
Crossing Delancy
Cahill Unite States Marshall
5 Card Stud

I've had 5 Card Stud on my Amazon wish list for some time now. Last time I checked it was available from second hand sellers starting at $45. Hope it wasn't a mistake and I get it.

That's absolutely true. Warners will clear these right OOP before long as I believe them to be focusing on Blu, the Archive and their streaming channel, but not necessarily in that order. Standard pressed DVDs are all but dead.

I placed a big order to fill in gaps in my collection. These are near Big Lots prices. Many thanks to the OP.

could've spent a lot more, but I showed "some" restraint.

Total $22.65
1000122713 You Must Remember This DVD $4.99
1000002215 Good Earth, The DVD $3.59
1000003919 Captain Horatio Hornblower DVD $3.59
1000009388 Executive Action DVD $3.59
1000008539 Prodigal, The DVD $3.29
1000002271 Point Blank DVD $3.59
1000009422 Jim Thorpe: All American DVD $3.29
$5 off $25 ($5.00)
Free Shipping: FREE
Tax $1.72

all are blind buys, but most excited about the doc You Must Remember This and The Prodigal in Cinemascope, even though it has the worst reviews.

You should be safe. Like We're No Angels (1955), and The Out of Towners (1970), they did a re-release not too long ago at a bargain MSRP. What you ordered is the new release of the title. AFAIK nothing's changed on those 3 titles other than the price.

I checked some titles and they appear multiple times. It looks like there might be multiple editions.

Back In Action had two entries and they had different prices. The cheaper one was the newer edition.

I enjoyed The Prodigal. It's a fair Biblical epic based on the parable of The Prodigal Son. It was originally in the set "Cult Camp Classics 4 - Historical Epics" which has the films: The Colossus of Rhodes, Land of the Pharaohs (which has already gone the MOD route), and The Prodigal.

And "distributed by Warner Brothers" and the WB logo printed above barcode. For some reason this bugs me, but it drives the prices of the original release down. I'm hoping they re release Li'l Abner, not go MOD...

I will pick up a lot of titles, because most WB big lots titles are cut outs.

Darn I should've checked that. I still need a couple more of those Cult Camp Classics box sets and I'm missing that one and the first one. I really want the box sets and they never seem to go on sale.

Over at Blu ray forum they say datapak who fulfills wbshop's orders got hacked a while ago. I'd keep an eye on credit cards used. Although this may not affect new orders. People have been receiving letters from this company datapak in the last day or so. I just ordered last night. I wanted to order again, but now I don't know.
Has anybody who received the letter know if the problem is over at wbshop?

MooMooMooMoo 10-07-13 10:02 PM

Re: WBshop DVD sale (mostly $3.59)

I got a Datapack letter today. It said it was a March 2013 hack. Someone did try to buy a plane ticket on the card in ? last month, but I'd already shut that card down. Don't remember if I did a Warner order in march, that could be when I bought Forbidden Hollywood 4 & 5.

Apparently Datapack processes cards for a number of companies & was hacked in March. I'm a bit surprised they're being this open; last time I was hacked badly (several years ago for $1400) I was told by my bank that the FBI was refusing to release the identity of which corporation got hit.

Folks, this is sadly par for the course on the internet in the 21st century.

I got one of those letters too. What places have people noticed charges being made at?

Re: WBshop DVD sale (mostly $3.59)

The blu ray people said there was alot of international charges in the UK, but others mentioned some domestic like for rental cars and airfare and phone cards. Some said there were bunch of charges for 12 cents from the UK to check the card first.

Re: WBshop DVD sale (mostly $3.59)

I checked my statements for 2013 and no fraudulent charges were made. I have used WBShop, however that was after March 2013. I also didn't create an account with WBShop and store my credit card with them, I just checked out as a guest. I'm relieved all is well, but I'm definitely going to be checking my statements more often. I'm also more concerned about using my credit card anywhere but Amazon now.

Same here, but I still got hit with fraudulent charges back in August. If you made any purchases with WBShop from March through September (or to be safe, if you've shopped there at any point), definitely keep close tabs on your account. If you receive one of the Datapak letters in the mail, I'd recommend getting a new credit card.

My last order was in January and I never saved my credit cards so I think I'm safe for now. No weird charges either.

It wouldn't be March. They collect the card #'s & sell them to Eastern Europeans. They tried to hit me last month.

That's normal; they'll try to get a $1 authorization to see if it's a valid card. oddly, they didn't do that with mine.

In fact, for those who check online banking daily (imo a requirement in this day & age), UNEXPECTED very small charges should be a HUGE red flag.

Hmmmm.... that may explain the $1400 fraudalent charge for a travel website. I don't remember ever getting a letter.

bsmith 10-08-13 12:15 PM

Re: WBshop DVD sale (mostly $3.59)

I received the letter yesterday as well. The fact that we are all discussing it on a thread related to WBShop makes it hard not to think it is related. I don't save credit cards on WBShop either but I was hit twice. It appears to be related to the company validating the cards and not WBShop itself. So we are probably all at risk. But that doesn't mean just WBShop since the company probably services many purchase sites.

In my case, I have made several purchases from WBShop during the last several months (March - Sepetember) when the problems appear to have occurred. I noticed a false charge for around $50 related to a conference in Australia (never been overseas's). Contacted AMEX and they took care of it as well as sending me a new card. Then another bogus charge on the new card from PA for $2.50 at a carwash (I live in MD). AMEX questioned that one and tipped me off. I received another new card last month.

So it wasn't just an attack in March, it has to have continued at least into August when i received the first replacement card. I wonder if that means they really do have it covered now that they sent out the letter. Especially since this started in March.

I have a new order I wanted to make as well, but now I'm not so sure. Switching out cards so often is a pain when you have auto-decductions taken out that have to be corrected.

MooMooMooMoo 10-08-13 01:59 PM

Re: WBshop DVD sale (mostly $3.59)

It's not really a problem on a true credit card as you get refunds including interest. Where is it a problem is on a debit/credit card; the time I got hit i was out the $'s for about 3 weeks.

WB Shop responded to my DM on Twitter regarding the Datapak letter:

"Yes. Datapak assures us the issue was resolved and their system secured. We are monitoring closely."

I received the letter, too, but after checking my CC bills, I haven't had any untoward charges.

Has anyone who ordered from this sale actually received anything? I ordered 12 titles on 10/4. They have my order divided into 2 shipments. They have charged my card for the 8 title shipment, but have not shipped. Both parts of my order show as processing.

Good to know WB has stayed with Datapak - that assures I will not use them again. How that's not an insta-drop of their card processor I have no idea.

BTW I had not saved my card details on WB either and it happened to me. Also look for charges from Walmart.com or Apple.com.

I've been checking my credit card activity and so far I have not seen anything yet -- my order was processed on 9/24 so I don't know if that helped or not. I did not save my card details and I will not do business with them again either.
