Thanks FOr The Exchange Tip On Phantom Of The Opera
I searched for the original thread on this 3 times, & could not find it, or I would have posted there. As this category is where I spend 99% of my time on DVD Talk, I strongly suspect it was here.
At any rate, huge thanks to the person who brought the defective POTO Image & the easy exchange to my attention. Got the new blu today & wouldn't have even known about it otherwise!

Wow. I had to read this since I had no clue what it was about and thought maybe mine was defective. When I Google'd, it appears to be something on the Lon Chaney version... not the 2004 BD which is the one I own. That piece of useful info should be mentioned above. Why is this BD exchange in the DVD forum? Come to think of it... why am I in the DVD forum? Old habits I guess.

See above, I'm 99% sure the original mention of this was on this sub-forum because I almost never read the others. Sorry I didn't mention Chaney in the title; I have a mindset that all other POTO's don't really exist!
It was a pretty long thread, I asked how to do the exchange & someone replied & it worked. As I apparently created a mystery, the original Image Chaney POTO br had a defective section, the dancers dance in slow motion. The replacement fixes that.
This is the only dvd/blu board I post on, so the thread must be here. I used the DVD Talk Google search above 3 times & could not find the original thread.

Since the original thread is hard to find could you please advise as to how to tell if the copy I have is defective and the process to request a replacement?

Re: Thanks FOr The Exchange Tip On Phantom Of The Opera
My apologies: I learned of this on an Amazon thread, not here:
http://www.amazon.com/review/R1O6TOP...wasThisHelpful
The dancers early in the opera part of the film appear to dance in slow motion. The menu will only list the three versions & composer. There is additional text on the menu of the corrected version; some of the text is small & hard to read on the corrected version. I no longer have the original, but if I remember right the background color of the menu is a brown/tan shade on the bad version; on the new version the background is grey.
The email address I successfully wrote for the exchange was:
