Looks like I'm picking up "Boardwalk Empire" S2 and "The Walking Dead" S2 here. No listing for "Starship Troopers: Invasion", so I checked their website - $17.99.

Best Buy ad for movies

@JohnIan, it's cheaper at Walmart.com, only $14.96 ...may want to check your local store as well to see it is the same.

I was planning to wait for Homeland (arguably the best show in the last year) but $19.99 on a $59.98 MSRP is tempting.

I will wait for Boardwalk Empire in hopes of a better price and TWD in case they repeat what they did with S1 and put a better version out in a couple of months.

A good week for new releases.

$24.99 for "Homeland Season 1" on blu-ray! That is insane! (In a great way )

Walmart currently has S1-3 for $14.96 each, in case you'd like to save a bit.

for Boardwalk, 29.99 is as low as its gonna get for a while. they might have it lower for the HBO 50% off sale the week before christmas. Also it would depend on if you have HBO or not

*nods*
HBO series DVDs are over-priced for such limited episodes.

I need to go food shopping there next week. I'll have to see if they're still possibly doing it then.

I'm sure that you and JohnIan are right about waiting awhile, but as long as things don't go out of print (and there's not an Exclusive involved), then I'm fine with waiting for years. I have already watched the Season, but even if I hadn't, I'd feel better waiting for the right price when I could afford it. Thanks though.

Re: Best Buy DVD prices (August 26th - September 1st, 2012)

I remember when the Walking Dead S1 first came out, Target had a fantastic sale of $14.99 on it, I jumped on it at that proce. $24.99 is too much for me for S2 (anticipating a better sale price). I'm hoping Target will do that again with S2 this time. Also can't wait for NCIS S9 to come down in price. $40 is not much of a sale price.

Thanks John/snausages! -kd5-

Walking Dead S1 was only 6 episodes. It should never be more than $15.

I was all set to purchase the DVD of OUAT since I don't have a blu-ray player in all rooms, but with a $15 coupon, it is now tempting to purchase the Blu instead.

I've heard mixed things about Battleship, but the Best Buy Exclusive is tempting.

I saw it in the theater (free ticket), and it's worth watching at least once just for the special effects, but I admit it's not particularly good. In fact, many movies fall into the "just OK" or "worth watching once" category. It's certainly not worth $19.99 on BD to me, even with an exclusive. When it hits $10 or less, then I'll consider buying it.
