There is a store coupon inside next week's ad for 20% off Disney titles (DVD or Blu-Ray). The image shows "Toy Story 3" and "The Princess And The Frog", but I don't see anything that limits the coupon to just those two titles. You need to clip the coupon directly from the ad, no copies allowed.

Does anyone know if there's going to be content or significant remastering in the $9.99 Casablanca 70th not in the last uber box (Ultimate Collector's Edition)? I already own it 2x: the UCE & as part of Bogart Signature #1.

This one made me laugh:

Saturday Night Live: Seasons 3 or 4 $14.99 (each)

That's the *regular* price at the store here - for all 5 seasons.

Nothing in the ad appeals to me but I'll check out the unadvertised specials anyway. -kd5-

Hmmmm... knowing that Target will do 14 day price adjustments on past sales, it would seem next week we should be able to retroactively apply the 20% off coupon on The Muppets (provided it's a Target coupon and not a Disney one) if you find a willing customer service employee.

Too bad there's not a single other Disney BD title at Target that I want and don't already have to use the coupon on. Well, I still don't have Mater's Tall Tales but I just can't bring myself to pay over $10 for I think 38 minutes worth of material (or maybe it was 50-something). Disney thinks all their BDs should be sold for a lot when to me the length and quality of the material should be a factor.

Yes, it's been remastered:

I highly doubt anyone would do that adjustment. I wouldn't. We only adjust if it's a change to the price, not a change to the price with coupon. Sure, you might be able to get one to do it, but Guest Service people tend to know their stuff and you're less likely to be able to bully them

There's no bullying involved. I've simply asked for it to be done, and the answer is usually yes. I've done it with both Target and manufacturer's coupons after the fact, and they've told me doing that is their policy within 14 days (and others have told me it might be longer). So if I go it's worth a try depending on what the coupon itself actually says. AFAIK and with what they've said, doing this is not bad or violating their policy but simply a 14 day courtesy they offer on price adjustments. If it's after 14 days then it would be a YMMV.

I thought the same thing! I do think however that the grain would probably be more pleasing in motion. On the other hand there looks to be some loss of detail in the shadows/blacks.

I'm assuming.

Checked the listing, I don't see an entry for season 15.

The only thing I can add is that it reads "more in-store" for TV box sets and box sets in general.

Sorry.

in the ad scan it says Casablanca Blu-ray is $19.99...is this an exclusive non-big packaging that only Target is getting and is also indeed the 70th Anniversary 3-disc set or does the 3-disc set only come in the behemouth packaging for $40+?

Update...

Okay. Lets address Scott1598's question. I've done some searching at Amazon and VideoETA for "Casablanca". I do not see a non-box Blu-Ray set. In fact, I don't 2012 DVD release either.

Above is the web listing off the Target website. There is no formal statement that these are exclusives. But that could be resolved on Tuesday. I think that since I can't find them other than at Target they could be store unique. I'll go on release day and give them a look - and report here.

Picture of Target Exclusive posted at Blu-ray.com .... I'll be buying this one. Sticker says exclusive ends 4/24/12 which jives with J&R which has a single disc blu-ray version listed as available on 4/24/12.

I'm confused now, which isn't saying much...but, is that Casablanca blu-ray pictured above going to a) be $9.99 and b) be available starting Tuesday?

EDIT:
Also, the Saturday Night Live set is the complete season 3 AND 4 for $14.99.

Also saw the complete Star Wars set for $79.99.

Re: Target DVDs (March 25th - 31st, 2012)

BTW, a comment on DVD Beaver's description of "the grain" in Casalanca:

Last October, I went & saw Casablanca in a local theater that was doing a classics series. At the time, I believed i was seeing a digital version, rather than a true film print (see this thread: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/archive/t-595488.html )

I later found out i was correct, that theater is digital only.

The thing i find interesting, is while I have no knowledge of which version they were showing, & at what bit rate; part of what upset me was the grain; & at the time I believed that the grain was a digital artifact, NOT from an accurate reproduction.

Not totally sure how that plays into this new release, but be warned; between DVD Beaver's screen caps & what I saw, this "upgrade" MAY in actuality be a downgrade!

it's a bit frustrating as there are so many "remastered/expanded"versions out there. At least I didn't buy the first Blu edition!

I'm curious about the DVD, does it comes with any new extra features?

FYI I've found, in store, a couple of those Fox/MGM 4 Midnite Movie 2-disc sets for $9.99. The 2 at my local store were:

-Alien From LA/Morons From Outer Space/Angry Red Planet/Man From Planet X
-Land that Time Forgot/People that Time Forgot/Panic in Year Zero/Last Man on Earth

Futurama V6 was 14.99 at my Target. I didn't grab it, hoping it was the same at Amazon, but I'll probably get it later this week.
