I found the deluxe Touch of Evil set $5

Also note... The Universal release of the Electric Horseman has music replaced. If you want the original music intact, you need the Image release.

MADIGAN is a fantastic, gritty cop flick with one of Widmark's last great lead performances. Unfortunately the DVD isn't anamorphic, but at least it's letterboxed, unlike Universal's sorry full frame of another Siegel classic, CHARLEY VARRICK. I doubt MADIGAN will ever see another release, so pick it up and enjoy more late 60's goodness.

Most of the titles from the recent batch everyone has been reporting showed up at the NoHo store on Vineland Avenue... it's mainly Universal titles. They also have about 10 copies of the Semi-Pro blu-ray.

The one thing I did NOT see was the Max Fleischer's Superman 1941-1942 set.

Those may have not made it to the West Coast. I've been looking too and have had no luck finding it and I'm about 2 hours north of you.

Everything else that's been mentioned I think I've seen, but no Superman.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Saw multiple copies of the single disc 'A Big Red One' by Samuel Fuller. I always look up Amazon for reviews and two of the reviews mentioned that in the single disc release, WB mistakenly included Disc 2 of the 2 disc release that contained special features instead of the main movie. Did anyone purchase this and find it to be true ? the price was $3

Picked up:
Touch of Evil - 50th Anniversary edition - $5
Mercy (TV Complete series) - $5
Madigan - $3
K911 - $3
The Border (Jack Nicholson) - $3
Godzilla - King of the Monsters (1956) - $3 (http://www.amazon.com/Godzilla-King-...dp/B00006FD9K/)
TCM War Collection - Battelfront Asia - Bataa, Back to Bataan, Green Berets, Destination Tokyo - $6
The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid - $3
Ladies in Lavender (Judi Dench, Maggie Smith) - $3
Panic in the Streets (Fox film Noir - Elia Kazaan) - $3
Havana (Robert Reford, Lena Olin) - $3
The Adventures of Robin Hood (Errol Flynn) - $3
The Countess from Hong Kong (Sophia Loren, Marlon Brando) - $3 (for my Brando collection only)
Broken Wings (Israeli film with great reviews) - $3 (http://www.amazon.com/Broken-Wings-O...dp/B000255L98/)

EDIT: Need to return 'Countess from Hong Kong' as its included in this set which I already have: http://www.amazon.com/Collection-Ame...dp/B0007RTBA6/

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I hit the stores in Lancaster, E. York, W. York, and Hanover this weekend, and FWIW, only West York had the Superman animated collection. There were at least 6 sets, but I got the only one with a slipcase.

According to the reviews (haven't scrutinized the actual disks yet), it's a shame how WB butchered the soundtrack, even if those changes were relatively minor. So close to perfect...

I didn't see any other titles terribly different from what's already been described, except for a $5 "unauthorized" U2 documentary, selling on Amazon for .98 plus shipping. I passed.

I got a 1 disc at BL for $3 about 3 months ago. It was the film. Since then I've seen both the 1 & 2 disc at BL, both at $3.

No comparison with the criterion version. In fact, I thought the Classic Media BD looked worse than their previous dvd! There were very bad interlacing problems that ruined the whole movie for me.

Wow. Thanks for info. I had only read an amazon review comparing dvd to Crit BD which claimed there were positive differences to both. I own the Classic Media dvd, maybe I'll return BD then.

Saturday Morning Cartoons 60's vol.2

Is this the same volume that was found awhile ago at BL? I have the one I bought somewhere around the house and don't want to buy the same one.
