Re: Deep Discount 25% Sale

I received three of the four items I ordered. I got in Maniac Cop (BD) and 42nd Street Forever Vols. 2-3. Frankenhooker hasn't shipped yet, so I guess there's going to be a wait for that one.

Edit to add: Just got my shipping notification for Frankenhooker.

Re: Deep Discount 25% Sale

I only ordered 2 items that happened to be real deals compared to other places. And the next day, both of those items went up in price, one removed from the sale, and the other still eligible, but hiked a few $. I wonder if they actively look at each order to make sure nobody gets too good of a deal and fixes their site as we find them. The order volume might be low enough now that they can. So if you see a good deal, hope that you are the first to order it.

Dvdplanet has about the same deal as DD. They are the same store with a different name.

Re: Deep Discount 25% Sale

I wasn't aware that Super D also owned DVD Planet. Are there any major internet players left other than Amazon that they don't own?

Re: Deep Discount 25% Sale

I won't be a big jerk-off about this sale like I have been recently, but I did manage to eel out another order that I'm pretty pleased with.

Death Note L Change the World 13.46
Embodiment of Evil (Blu/DVD) 15.08
Riptide The Complete First Season 13.72
Scooby-Doo Dynomutt Hour Complete Series 29.20
WWE: Very Best of WCW Nitro 18.20
Damage: 89.65

Thing is, chances might have been or might be good that these were lurking around elsewhere for cheaper, but not anywhere I could find before I made the purchase. The prices went up slightly overnight, from cart to purchase, but it was still well under $100, so I'm still pretty pleased. Plus, some of those titles were cheaper than I've seen them for a long time, if ever.

Oh, and my preorder of Destroy All Monsters shipped today. It came out 11/8; ah, what're ya gonna do, sometimes, word?

For the titles I ordered, DVDPlanet was actually a little bit more expensive on all titles and $1 or $2 more on a couple of them. Plus, for those who don't plan on ordering too much, DVDPlanet requires a higher order total to qualify for free shipping. However, you do get frequent buyer points from DVDPlanet.

Re: Deep Discount 25% Sale

My order of 8 DVDs arrived. 7 of them are fine, but I'm unsure of the last.

It was a title that was supposed to come with a Digital Copy, and it just so happened that it was the only title with questionable shinkwrap (that looks like it could be from the manufacturer, but also could just as easily be re-shrinked). I wish that there was a way to tell.

I don't care much about the Digital Copy, but I also don't like the idea that I might be buying stock from people who would open the DVD in order to pull it and then are selling the DVD as complete. I guess what makes the most sense is to open it up and see, but once I do it might be a lot tougher to return it.

All four of my DVDs arrived together. And in a box! Not the sticky plastic coating thing.

Re: Deep Discount 25% Sale

A bit pricier than my normal purchases but too many BLs dvds have changed my prospective on such things:

Nesting [Blu-ray]: 13.57
Salon Kitty [Blu-ray]: $15.92
Circle of Iron [Blu-ray]: $13.57
More Brains! a Return to the Living Dead Price: $10.84
----------
Total $53.90
