Severin delivers a top notch product but I'm sure they did have a significant spike in webstore business (who has actually bought from their site before? I doubt too many of us) so it has to be bogging them down. I'm okay with the wait to get the dvd I ordered at less than half price.

Okay, I just dug into my email history & compared my 2 Severin orders.

So, in addition to waiting longer this time around, the order numbers indicate only 83 orders they've processed in 4 months.

No specific details (still a 'few days'), but they responded and appear to be working on getting orders shipped. I'm happy to have heard from them.

Just imagine how long it would take if Code Red sold their (OOP) DVDs directly...

Hopefully at least this will be a learning experience for Severin's mailorder staff. When I bought their Hardware t-shirt earlier this year there wasn't any delay.

I wonder how far word of this sale spread. I think I read in another thread that some deals posted here are reposted on other boards? Did this become a viral bargain or something? Plus there's no counting how many lurkers placed an order (I used to lurk here years ago).

Just for a sense of scale, my shipping confirmation was emailed approx 2 weeks after I placed the order.

Being a relatively new operation (approx a year I think), order #208 literally means I placed the 208th order since they started operating. I'd be curious to see some of your order #'s, see if they spiked in the last few weeks.

There is no excuse for the slow service, I know their a small company, but I handled shipping for a large corporation in which I would send out hundreds to sometimes thousands of packages daily, tired of these companies having sales then taking forever with their shit, we are small isn't an excuse when all you have to do is place a label or write an address on packages. Don't have these sales if you can't take one day out of the week to package and ship the orders. End rant.

Well, my order arrived in the mail today (despite the fact that my account still says processing) so hopefully everyone will receive their order soon.
BTW, it was shipped media mail and the label was created yesterday 10/5 and I got it today! The return address was from an apartment in Los Angeles which I thought was odd, but as long as I got my order sealed and in mint shape, I really don't care where it comes from. Just thought it would be from the company's office (maybe they don't have one?).
I'm listening to the Emanuelle soundtrack right now, so I'm happy!

And today, 10/12/11, I finally received my Malabimba DVD! It was shipped First Class since it was just 1 DVD.

Curious thing is the return address was of "CAV Distributing Corp." (253 Utah Avenue, South San Francisco, CA, 94080).

And of the addresses printed on the Order Confirmation slip:

Correspond & Remit To: CAV Distributing Corp.
Sold To: Severin Films LLC
Ship To: me

So I guess the actual DVDs are stored up in San Francisco with CAV?
