Found it at Big Lots along with the Ray Harryhausen Sci Fi collection and earlier this week I found the Mae West Glamour collection all for 5.00 each.

Good for you! At least around here, the Mae West was one of the hardest to find. I finally got one, but it took quite a bit of shopping.

I was very excited to finally find it. I have been looking since early July and only last week when i roadtripped to hit 15 stores did I finally locate it. The Fields was more elusive and I finally gave up and bought a copy online from a reseller (it was under 15.00 shipped). I could even see the residue from the BL 5.00 sticker on it with the rectangular sticker over the barcode still intact.

Btw edward R Hamilton has the Carole Lombard glamour set (w/o the slipcover )for 9.95 and that is a decent deal since it has yet to show up at any BL stores.

I always take into account where a movie (or any other means of expression) stands in relation to opinion of its time. I agree about the acting, but my problem is with the writing. If Poitier's character were more of a regular guy than superman, there were interesting areas that the movie could have explored. It was only a year after the Supreme Court's decision in Loving v. Virginia, and I would hope that at least a few couples had an easier time with family and friends as a result of this movie, but I wonder if it was as helpful as the filmmakers hoped.

Check your local Big Lots. I picked this up at the Troy NY store yesterday for $5. They had several copies.

The bonus disc is mostly "Guess"-related with a 20-minute documentary on his overall impact.

They definitely didn't show up at my Big Lots. I hadn't been to this BL for a couple months (I was tired of finding nothing) and not only did I not see the Stanley Kramer set, I didn't find anything new since the last time, and on top of that they used to have a full DVD tower + 1 table with DVD pallets on it... now they only have a 3/4ths filled tower (the table is gone). So I won't go there again unless they have some BF deals or a 20% off coupon.
