Just returned from a quick stop at Borders at Windward Mall in Kaneohe; they had several table displays as well as tall end cap racks full of DVDs, Blu-Rays, and CDs all for 40% off. These may be left over stock from the recently closed Borders at Waikele (Waipahu), but who cares? 40% OFF! I picked up a copy of the Criterion release House for $17.99 and an Ali Farka Toure/Toumani Diabate CD for $11.39, so I'm happy as a clam. However happy that could be.

Too bad I don't live close to that Borders as I'd probably buy a few Criterions. Do you have any idea whether or not the Ward Center Borders has the same discounts?

Interesting. My local Borders closed last month. They went to 90% off the last few days. Not sure about books, but they sold out of dvd & BLU, & likely sold out of cd also.

They had the same deal here in Mass., seems like they are liquidating all the
CDs and DVDs/Blu stock.

This sale is indeed at all stores. According to the manager of the store I was in yesterday, they are clearing out CD titles they won't be carrying any longer. She did not say if that applied to the DVDs and BDs that were on clearance but I assume it is. I also asked if they were going to drop to 50% soon as they've been 40% off for some time and she said she wasn't sure.

You'd think we would have had Teleporters by now! If guys like the one who came up with the concept of blister packs had only used their powers for good instead of evil....

I don't know but I'll be near there this afternoon so maybe I'll drop in and find out; if it's the same I'll report back here. And you know, Windward Mall is only about 20-25 minutes away if you drive there. I live in town but was in Kaneohe to see someone and stopped at the Mall on a whim.

Maybe you could stow away on a merchant ship and disembark in Honolulu...I plan to go to Detroit later in the year and I'm either going to do this or mail myself there.
