A decent price for so many Crown International goodies (and baddies):

Darn, I should have waited. This contains the films of four other eight films collections, of which I own at least three.

Off the top of my head, I know I have a bunch of these. I wish there was an easy way to figure out the rest.

I must have well less than half of what you have, don't keep them in a database since DVDSpot died, and make buying mistakes all the time.
How do you even keep somewhat of a close handle on what you own?
I'm not at all mocking. I want to be you.

http://www.collectorz.com/ I also have the phone app.
Then it's just a matter of making sure I enter any new movies which is another challenge. Movies for the kids usually end up downstairs so I forget they exist and never enter them. My memory is decent enough to remember the movie covers of what I own but tv shows are generic enough that I've bought the same volumes of Family Guy a couple of times already and did the same with MST3K last year.

Re: Amazon: Mill Creek's Drive-In Cult Classics - 32 Movie Set - $11.49
Hi everyone, I've been lurking here since 2002 and never really felt the need to create an account and post before. I'm an avid fan of Mill Creek/BCI's releases of Crown International Pictures, and have built an extensive spreadsheet referencing every title in the Crown Library with all of the DVD releases.
This 32 movie set collects the titles from the 8 pack releases Drive In Cult Classics Vol. 1-3 and After Dark Thrillers.
The situation is further complicated with the releases of the 12 packs from Mill Creek. As it is, including the Dangerous Babes set that is scheduled for a July 26th release, there are only three titles from the 32 movie set that are not also on the 12 packs: Double Exposure (from After Dark Thrillers), Malibu High (from Drive In Cult Classics vol. 1), and They Saved Hitler's Brain (from Drive In Cult Classics vol. 2, and ultimately a very minor re-edit of Madmen of Mandoras which is on a 12 pack). Double Exposure and They Saved Hitler's Brain are both featured in Mill Creek's Pure Terror 50 pack, along with other non-12-pack-as-of-yet Crown titles Don't Answer The Phone and Point of Terror, as well as the 12 pack titles My Mom's a Werewolf, Satan's Slave and Terror in the Jungle.
Buying the 32 pack creates the situation of further duplication down the line if you start getting 12 packs because you'll end up almost entirely duplicating it (and perhaps completely duplicating it with the release of future 12 packs). Including Dangerous Babes, there are 8 12 packs so far, collecting 95 unique titles across them (unfortunately Sister in Law from Big Screen Bombshells is on the cover of Dangerous Babes, presenting the first intra 12 pack duplication), including 29 of the 32 on this set. 12 packs can generally be found for around $5 new, around $3 used for the older ones.
As far as Drive-In Classics Vol. 4 goes, it has been entirely re-released across the Pure Terror 50 pack (Don't Answer the Phone) and the 12 packs Rare Cult Cinema (Young Graduates, The Specialist), Savage Cinema (Death Machines, Wild Riders), Big Screen Bombshells (Chain Gang Women), Gorehouse Greats (Brain Twisters), and Too Cool For School (The Van).
I think that if you don't own anything and are just kind of curious the 32 pack is a great place to start, but if you're going to try to collect all of the titles it becomes redundant, except in that it does feature the better transfer for Trip with the Teacher, less compression for the titles from Drive In Cult Classics Vol. 2 and Vol. 3, which were spread one film per side instead of two, and my favorite Crown movie Malibu High which, though available on Drive In Cult Classics vol. 1, has yet to appear in a 12 pack.

That's not always true as some of these films have enough space to fit two to a disc. They may have also used double layered discs for one set and single for the other.

EDIT: I've just compared Van Nuys Blvd on DiCC Vol. 3 to its presentation on the most recent 12 pack Explosive Action. DiCC has it in anamorphic widescreen and a little blocky, and Explosive Action has it 4:3 from an older master (with letterboxed opening titles) and blockier.

Care to share your spreadsheet? I've been meaning to create one for myself since I have a bunch of the 50 movie packs and some random other packs I picked up. I thought at one time if you got all the 50 movie packs you'd have everything, but that's probably not true anymore. I also have some random PD releases that I wanted to compare to see if they are on any of the other sets. I just haven't taken the time.
The 50 packs are kind of overwhelming for me. I got in on the 250 horror pack, but not the other 250 packs, and I have the Pure Terror, Chilling Classics and Drive-In Movie Classics. Even with those alone I wonder if I'll manage to watch them all.

Thanks for the tip-off on the DANGEROUS BABES collection. Looks like that one's got three titles I don't recall being in any previous sets: GOLDEN HAIR, SEXTETTE (a must-see for bad movie buffs, though I doubt it will compete with the recent semi-special edition from Scorpion Releasing), NOON SUNDAY (another rarity!) and the long-delayed VIRGIN QUEEN OF ST. FRANCIS HIGH, which was originally scheduled to be on a double feature with MALIBU HIGH way back in the BCI days, which actually made it to pre-order in 2006 at many sites before being shelved for some strange reason. Amazon's dead listing is still up: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GETUBA/. Unfortunately, buying the DANGEROUS BABES set means re-buying 8 movies I already have, some in more than one set!

You really have to keep your eye on ebay for the big sets...I got the Mystery 250 for $9 and I see it for $90 now. The Family 250 has been $90 for awhile but on ebay you can find it in the high $30s at times.

POM POM girls one of the trickiest of the bunch. Some sets have the "widescreen" version which is missing almost all of the nudity and sex and riddled with slashing green lines (projector damage?), while other sets contain the open matte full-screen version which is in much better condition and fully uncut.

I couldn't decide whether to get it or wait for a more complete (i.e. less redundant in the future) set and left it in my cart. Today I see the message: "Please note that the price of Drive-In Cult Classics - 32 Movie Set has decreased from $11.49 to $10.49 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart."

Starlite Drive In Double Feature: Pom Pom Girls/The Van, Drive In Cult Classics Vol. 3, and Drive In Cult Classics 32 Movie Pack all feature the uncut open matte Pom Pom Girls presentation (along with trailers for Malibu Beach and Weekend Pass). School Dazed 8 Movie Pack and Too Cool For School 12 Movie Pack feature the anamorphic widescreen edited presentation of Pom Pom Girls. There is a two pack of The Beach Girls and Pom Pom Girls from when Rhino had the Crown license, the scan of the back cover on Amazon says 90 minutes and the reviews mention it being 4:3 so I imagine that it's the former.

That POM POM GIRLS/THE VAN "Starlite Drive-In" combo from way back actually has excellent prints of both films (not to mention some bonus junk that I don't believe shows up on any other presentations of those titles), which is why I was so disappointed to see the horrible version they included in the SCHOOL DAZED collection. The key review of the latter set at Amazon is mine; I've also reviewed a couple other Crown collections if I recall correctly. Sad to read that the compromised version also turned up in the TOO COOL set. THE VAN usually looks OK in all the sets, but some seem just a tad better than others. That could be due to compression issues for all I know, though.
Even though I've seen and/or still own every single title in that 32-pack, that price drop is tempting me to get it just for the space savings. Talk about pathetic . . .

Aww, turn that frown upside down! I think overall Too Cool for School is a great release for the titles it collects for the price. There are some issues with Pom Pom Girls but otherwise it's about as good as you're going to find for the titles in it.

I have exactly half of these movies. I guess I'll order it at that recently lowered price.

I'd hoped this collection would include The Carhops, a film I saw at a drive-in in about 1980-81, but no such luck. Oh, well.
