Some pretty decent prices, I dropped about $50 for Nine Movies.

Re: Deep Discount Spring BOGO Sale

They have Hank Mobleys Roll Call listed as a DVD ?

I am guessing now that it must be the (DVD Audio - 1998), which is a great deal it is selling for
$30 on Amazon!

I think in one thread he mentioned DD screwed him and didn't want to do the links for their sales anymore.

There are 8 pages of 250 entries. I don't know if I have the patience to try to dig out a bargain.

Re: Deep Discount Spring BOGO Sale

Finally a respectable deal on Grapes of Death; thinking of pairing it with The Deadly Spawn.

How's Thriller (the one eye revenge flick)?

I dug through them and came up with 2-3 titles but not much else. Even on those few I found none are of equal value so I have to decide which, if any, would make good pairings for a purchase. It truly seems like a hodge-podge of stuff. Almost a "what are we severely overstocked on? Let's put it on sale to get it out of here" type list. This is solely based on the many TVonDVD titles where 1 season is included but no/few others from the series. "Moonlighting" is a good example - S3 only is included.

Ditto. There are a few included titles that were actually *less* a few weeks ago even taking into account the BOGO. One example is "The Real McCoys". S1 and S2 would run you ~$23 today while you could have picked up both a few weeks ago for under $20.

Re: Deep Discount Spring BOGO Sale

Never ordered from Deep Discount before...........

*How is their packaging of orders/shipments from your past experiences?

*When they say something is "in stock" is the site usually accurate/reliable?

*For those familiar with Synapse titles (prices/sales history) how do these
prices compare?

Thanks in advance for any info/insight. Very much appreciated.

Actually it is a good deal IMO for The Real McCoys S1 and S2. The S3 and S4 sets were under $10 each a few weeks ago but the S1 and S2 sets were around $17-$18 dollars each.

Re: Deep Discount Spring BOGO Sale

Went through everything and only found 2 titles I was remotely interested in. Checking the price even with the sale was still more than I can get them elsewhere. Another pass for me.

One thing that interests me is Suspense. I've got a friend who'd like this as well, so I think we shall split the costs.

Finding "Religulous" in the list made this just a quest for me to find something to pair with it.

Re: Deep Discount Spring BOGO Sale

Thanks OP...

Unfortunately, the selection of DVDs in the categories I was interested in absolutely sucked. I saw DVDs listed for anywhere from $9 to $12 (prices rounded) that I've seen at Big Lots for $3 and at Walmart for $5. Others were WAY overpriced as well, not even a deal at BOGO Free. Deep Discount has lost its way, absolutely does NOT deserve to use that name any more, is NOT a source for any kind of deep discounts on any DVDs that I might be interested in. -kd5-

THRILLER is just okay, a bit over hyped and overrated as a "legendary" cult pic. The trouble is that it's deadly slow and to add insult to injury, many sequences were shot in slow motion and they go on f...o...r...e...v...e...r....

I highly recommend this series. A fascinating bit of television history. I watch one episode per week to make it last longer and am loving it.

I stand corrected! Yes, it *was* S3 & S4 that were on sale. I have no excuse other than lack of coffee... In fact I didn't get S3 and S4 at that time because S1 & S2 were *not* on sale that cheap. I didn't want to start another series "in the middle"... Thanks for the correction!

If everyone just posted the good points, it would be a pretty boring thread. The point of my post was to say that I didn't find anything of interest to me in this sale. -kd5-

This would be a pretty boring site if all the posts were "I didnt find this", "I wish they had this".... Who cares that you dont like a sale or didnt find something
