"Rodan/War Of The Gargantuans" - while not technically a set "Rodan" goes with the early Godzilla films.
and I'd say "Toho Pack Box Set - The Mysterians, Varan, and Matango" but it's apparently OOP with people asking insane prices considering each film is still in print as a single release - so go with the individual releases of those. "Dogora" is in the general vein and also good, but not a set nor part of one. Eventually, I checked Borders.com and they listed it as Backordered with a 4-8 week wait. I went ahead and placed an order with a coupon fulling expecting the order to be cancelled but a few days ago I received a shipping notice for it. I was surprised but was still skeptical that I would receive the correct item. Well, it arrived today and it is in fact the TOHO Pack with The Mysterians, Varan, and Matango. $15 well spent. |

Re: Amazon: GODZILLA COLLECTION $18.99

Nope, they said 1 to 2 weeks, but it will be 2 weeks on Saturday. They said delivery estimate was April 6th to April 13th.

Is The Godzilla Collection going out of print? Judging by the DVD Price Search results, it sure looks that way.

Re: Amazon: GODZILLA COLLECTION $18.99
It's possible that Classic Media is letting their current DVD releases go OOP.
WB/Legendary Pictures is currently working on a new Godzilla movie with a release date sometime in 2012. My guess is they're shooting for a Dec. 21, 2012 release date for multiple reasons. So we could see new releases on Blu-Ray within the next couple years with Classic Media and Sony (they hold North American rights for all but 3 Godzilla movies) looking to catch on the marketing wave surrounding the upcoming movie. The same thing happened with GINO when Sony released it in 1998, though the market was still primarly VHS focused at the time. |

I dont think so. I look at a price search and they range form $20-$54. Some dealers just dont want to drop the price.
I've checked at least a dozen online shops and most have the item listed as no longer available. The few who still offer it have it listed as backordered. I've only found a couple of shops that have it listed as in-stock. |
Re: Amazon: GODZILLA COLLECTION $18.99
^This set, like "The Lone Ranger: 75th Anniversary - Seasons 1 and 2" has gone into a "2nd printing" version with a price reduction. Many sites still show it as OOS/NLA which it is if all they offer/list is the older version. "The Lone Ranger" set did much the same thing before sites with the old version began getting the new one in stock.

Re: Amazon: GODZILLA COLLECTION $18.99
So I'm pretty sure this set has went out of print. It's out of stock on both Walmart and Amazon. I ordered mine like a week and a half ago, will I still get my set even if they are out of print? I've never had this happen so I figured this would be the place to go.

Re: Amazon: GODZILLA COLLECTION $18.99
Yep, I ordered on March 26th with a 2 week expected delivery. I wait 2 weeks and got an e-mail telling me it was going to be another 2 weeks. I complained and ended up getting 1 day delivery for free. 2 weeks later still nothing, so I canceled my order and complained again.

Re: Amazon: GODZILLA COLLECTION $18.99
I picked it up, its a good deal and something to watch on a rainy saturday.

Re: Amazon: GODZILLA COLLECTION $18.99
I'm really bummed out about this. I don't see me getting the set ever. If they don't have the damn copies they shouldn't be selling it.

BUT - if you already have it ordered and want a copy *keep the order open*. Amazon will continue to try and get copies to fulfill open orders. Sometimes it may take months but they'll occasionally (every 6 weeks or so) send an email asking you to confirm keeping the order open while they continue to look for copies. So far I've had one such order get cancelled after 6 months and another got fulfilled after 5. I'm currently waiting on a 3rd (no, not "Godzilla" but a OOP Christmas Jazz CD) to actually ship after 4 months of being "back ordered". So - ordered and still want a copy? Keep the order open and do *not* cancel out of frustration. You may get lucky and get a copy. |

Re: Amazon: GODZILLA COLLECTION $18.99
Wow I guess it is OOP. All the under $30 ones have sold on ebay and now the cheapest I see is $50 and $77 for the original box set. Amazon has it no cheaper than $34.(not including shipping)
Cant say I feel sorry for people who missed out or were sitting on the fence too long. I and many others brought this thread up several times the last few weeks. It was a great deal for 7 films.(Under $3 each) There should have been little thought of purchasing this if you are a godzilla fan. The price was bound to go up or the item OOS or OOP. Wish I had ordered a few more now. |
