This is a DVD Bargain why? Because it installs from a computer formatted DVD? Since Amazon advertises this under "Software", I'd say it is in the wrong forum.

Although I agree it doesn't belong in the DVD forum (perhaps Hot Deals makes more sense), I am thankful for the post. I bought the Complete Star Trek collection for $1.99 (had a $5 promo code to burn). Although I already have most of these comics in file format, this set is surely more complete, and more official, so thanks!

The Forum description says:
Post and Discuss DVD Related Bargains including Blu-ray Bargains and DVD Clubs

It doesn't have to be only DVD movies - could be players, accessories, etc. I would argue that it fits this forum more than Hot Deals. If a mod wants to move it, than so be it.

Thanks for this. I too picked up the star trek set. Why is there always someone that has to say "this doesnt belong here". It says what it is in the title..and it doesnt take much effort to pass it up.

Had the Trek one, but couldn't resist the Looney Tunes @ 2.99. Thanks for posting!

I also have The Avengers and Spider-Man but I guess Marvel has stopped licensing these. I noticed Incredible Hulk is $300 and Captain America is $200! And combined some joker is selling them for $1300!

I almost bought the Looney Tunes one last week, but that one "only" has 20 comics (compared to, say, the Archie one which has 120)

Marvel has gone to this digital online subscription service. You sign up and for a monthly fee you get access to their entire digital library. Not really my bag, but that's why they stopped producing discs like these.

I love comics, and while I definitely prefer the tactile nature of the softcover or TPBs, they just cost more than I want to spend. This is great. If I still had Prime I'd easily order a couple. As it is my cart does have enough for free shipping, so just have to decide what else to get.
Is it possible to transfer and read these PDFs onto an iphone for free?

I'm planning to put them on my iPad. According to some of the reviewers, it's possible.

We had already discussed these in the Comic Book Deals thread, which is the proper place for it. Got a lot more responses here, though.

The files are PDF so you just need a way to get 'em there. iBooks will open/read them just fine. The best/easiest method (iTunes? - don't know, don't use) would be either email or use an upload server as Jobs & co. had the "wisdom" to *not* put a USB port on the things... Just make sure that whatever you use does not require Flash *or* JAVA to work.

I don't need a USB port (or Java or Flash); I can do it via wi-fi. I've done it with many other docs and am confident I can do it with these.

I had stumbled across these a few weeks back and picked up two of the archies ones. It's a great deal.

This was a great deal and THANKS for posting it. I have been putting off buying the Star Trek collections, but at that price I couldn't refuse. I also picked up a copy of each of the Archies. Too bad they limited it to one per customer on each of the titles. Wish Disney would do one of these for the Carl Barks Scrooge titles.

That would be totally awesome but to my knowledge they haven't done stuff like this, and the property has been moving around. Check the comic book forum for news on the big upcoming Barks release.

I read a couple of MAD magazine issues today and they worked pretty well on my iPad. The early art on these things was reallly really good too!

Do the Mad files have watermarks? Which reader app are you using? I bought the Looney Tunes comics and put them on my iPad but I can't seem to find a reader that will display them without the watermark. It isn't that annoying but it would be better without it.

If you're talking about the trademark in a white rectangle at the bottom of each page (similar to GIT Corp's Marvel collections), the MAD collection doesn't have those.

The scan quality is poor, however. I'm viewing them with Adobe Reader.

I don't care much for the DVD version of MAD. I have the CD-Rom version which has audio and animation which is not included on the DVD.
