Let's see...
Full Moon lied about "finding" a box of Puppet Master Boxsets years ago. They magically had them for years after even though they were 'Limited'.
Full Moon shipped out (past their 'early' release date) defective Blu-rays and took months to replace them.
So No. They won't get my money.

^Depends on what you want to get out of it. If you're looking for a tax deduction that might be a fun way to do it. I have no idea what Full Moon's balance sheet or business model looks like, but I doubt that you'll get much money back, much less a profit. You should read Lloyd Kaufman's book "Make Your Own Damn Movie," especially the chapter about investors and how to tell them that they'll never see their money again.

From Fullmoon:
Our profitable proposal.
Dear Ben,
Thanks for your interest in our modest but profitable proposal!
Full Moon is producing its first 3-D limited theatrical release: Evil Bong
3-D: The Wrath of Bong!
Even though by mainstream Hollywood standards this is very low budget - for
us it's a big step especially with the theatrical release component. We have
most of the budget covered however we are about $60,000 short of the cash
required to complete the film which starts photography next week! Therefore
the offer is as follows: You loan Full Moon and Evil Bong productions $5000
for 6 months. The money is required on or before Friday January 14th. The
loan is then repaid 6 months later and in addition you get paid a $2500
consultancy fee on that same date. This is not an investment - just a loan
with a great fee for your help! The promissory note will be signed by Full
Moon, Evil Bong productions and Charles Band personally. This opportunity
is open to a maximum of twelve people (12 x $5000 is the $60,000 we are
short).
That's it! If you're interested and want to find out more please call me at

That is crazy. Hilarious and Crazy. Pretty sure a big part of the reason Band produces and distributes like he does is because of Not paying people in the past.

I'm no genius, but if he can't get a loan from a real financial institution, this throws a big red flag up. I mean they are needing $60K and going to pay back $90K in 6 months. If it seems too good to be true...you know the rest. And I'm a fan, not so much now, but 13 to 15 years ago I was one of those idiots paying $30-50 for those hard to find Full Moon VHS tapes - and happy when a Blockbuster would have one PVT for sale that would fill in the collection. I'd like to help the "Dude", but yeah...

I really don't think their goal is ripping people off.

I'm tempted, but I don't really have the money to spare. I just refinanced from a 30 year loan down to a 15 year loan, so have higher payments now. I may still do the $200 gift card deal, but I have to pass on this.

This is how b-movies always used to get funded. They'd go around to people with money, do a pitch and get/not get some cash. Heck, I helped someone start funding their project by helping them do this, a couple years ago.
I really don't think their goal is ripping people off.

From Wikipedia, but still enough to raise some red-flags (short story, he's never made good on a still-running contest to put winners as extras in a film):
In 2005, Charles Band embarked on the Full Moon Horror Roadshow: A traveling, live Full Moon-inspired show, featuring Band and actors/actresses from past Full Moon films. Some shows also featured his son, Alex Band. At all shows, Band offered a contest for a chance for a member of the audience to have a part in a future Full Moon feature. As of 2009, none of these winners have received their roles. However, on August 27, 2009 Band blogged that those who were chosen would have the opportunity to be cast in his next project.[3] Band continued the roadshow in 2006, this time putting it in smaller venues. A similar contest, offering a part in a movie, was held at these events. It is not known if any of the winners were ever cast.

This sounds like too good of an investment opportunity to pass up. Unfortunately, I'm a bit short of funds at the moment, but am expecting a huge financial payoff soon from a Nigerian investment deal I managed to get in on last month (anybody else get that email?).

Re: Pay $200, Get $600 Credit for Full Moon
I invested in the partnership that helped finance and produce several very successful Disney/Touchstone pictures including WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT. It was fun and exciting but it took 3+ years before I saw any money and in the end I just broke even. I would have made more leaving it in the bank earning interest.
I'm not sure an indie company like this would have a faster turnaround time for reimbursement, if any, let alone profit, but regardless, I wouldn't invest in this proposal or outfit even if I could afford to lose 5 grand.

Re: Pay $200, Get $600 Credit for Full Moon
Seriously, this is an opportunity to get a production credit and help the movie come out. There's an extreme risk of losing all your money, because frankly it's a Full Moon production with only a limited theatrical run. If you really think you're going to get your $2500 profit, you're a sucker. You may be a lucky sucker, but a sucker none the less.
But IF you have that kind of money to lose just for fun, then that's awesome. I've helped out musicians for no profit just because I respected their artistry. No reason you can't do the same for a movie production.

Re: Pay $200, Get $600 Credit for Full Moon
Nothing about the terms of this loan request makes sense. If Charles Band/FME can't procure a proper $60,000.00 bank loan, they must have a really bad credit history. No one in their right mind would pay $2,500.00 interest on a six month loan for $5,000.00.
