That's a good idea. I'm aware of the program. I think there are a number of workarounds that won't require changing the settings on the DVD-ROM.

I'm finally getting some tracking info... it shipped out of Dallas yesterday. If the USPS isn't completely lame (and can't move a package 200mi in 1 day) I should have it today or tomorrow.

I'm hoping for a copy of Star Trek 2009 on DVD. But I'm actually pretty sure it's gonna be the item pictured.

They are. I've had them take more than a week to deliver a package from within the same state. Another took three business days to deliver a package within the same zip code. That one was just crazy.

If it's any consolation... the packaging is COMPLETE crap. It looks nice on the shelf but the insides just feel thrown together. 3 big bricks of flipping cases (luckily all intact, I'd read of people with multiple broken disc holders), no booklet, and a small poster with summaries of the season content. No booklet whatsoever, so you have to flip through the discs and read the episode titles from there. Bleh.

I can see why it was like 90% off. Gonna have to invest in some custom cases.

Congrats on being one of the lucky few to get this deal. Was really pissed when my order was cancelled. I sent off a scathing email to Hastings about it too. Haven't gotten a reply but don't expect one either.

I ordered it and the funds in bank account have been on hold for since Monday for my purchase. The hold disappeared today, so I checked the website. Order cancelled. No email notice or anything.

I probably wouldn't care so much except for the continued hold on my funds and the lack of a cancellation notice. I probably wouldn't have found time to watch it until 2012 or so after everything watching everything that I've bought over the past week.

Got mine today also. Looks legit but I won't know until I verify that the discs are dual layer. Best deal of Black Friday/Cyber Monday.....that is if they're the real deal.

Looks like they're dual layer and legit. Sweet! The folks who put this 'box' (yuck yuck) set together should be shot though....the packaging is truly shite.

You might get one next year. GoHastings has the slowest e-mail service on earth. I wrote them two weeks ago because they didn't refund the taxes on some items I returned. They get back to me tonight with this:

"Our records indicate a promotion was applied to this order as well so you are only being refunded the amount you paid, not the original amount of each item."

Well, DUH!. The fact remains that they only refunded the subtotal, which is listed plain as day in my order confirmation. I was charged tax for the items regardless of using a coupon code. They need to hire a staff who actually takes the time to comprehend customer e-mails before shooting of a worthless response like that. I know it's easier to call, but I hated to wait on hold forever just reclaim a few cents.

Sorry, off topic - but I needed to rant a little.

Interesting that if you just go to the site and search for the set it shows it at it's regular $544 price and out of stock.

These morons did not even put it in a BOX! They simply wrapped a thin layer of brown paper over it, I mean like paper towel thickness, and sent it through the mail that way!!!

Needless to say, many of the brittle plastic cases inside were cracked and broken completely. I haven't even had the stomach to look at the actual DVDs yet...
