Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Last night at the Niles, IL store I asked the cranky old dude who manages it if there would be any new DVDs coming in and he gave me the usual, "We never know in advance, so you'll just have to keep coming back and checking for yourself."
A year ago at that same store there was a manager trainee and when I asked her, she not only told me the day the new stock was coming in, but what time I should come back so I could check the titles as she unloaded them. AND she was totally hot! For a couple of weeks that store was a pleasure to shop in, even the employees seemed to be transformed by her being there. Since then it's been just the cranky old dude again and the usual irritable employees.

That's correct, and I thought The Company was brilliant! This is no James Bond, mind you. It is a gripping spy drama set against real historical events, with stunning performances, in particular by Michael Keaton and Alfred Molina. I definitely recommend it as it shows real spy games and the dangers spies on both sides have to face.

Hate to start a new thread for this - but since so many tv shows showed at Big Lots, thought some might like this.
Family Video Steal of todaay - Different Strokes - The Complete First Season 3-Disc Set DVD $5.99

Classic film fans should keep an eye out for TRAIL OF THE LONESOME PINE with Henry Fonda and Fred MacMurray. This has been showing up at a couple of the Central Ohio BL stores...Brice Road in Columbus and in Heath, Ohio.

Good news for anyone looking for the ultra-mega rare Twin Peaks season two...they had 11-12 copies at the Big Lots in Fayetteville Georgia, (3 for $6, the rest were $10) Hurry and beat the rush!

Also unusual (VERY unusual) is to see a 20% off BL coupon good for the entire week (usually they are just on the weekend). This means most BLs will be picked clean by mid week of anything good. Unfortunately I don't think $2 off a $10 DVD will be quite enough to get me to buy those other seasons I'd like. Back to $6 (after coupon) would do it though.

I found Twin Peaks to be a great series, although quite dated now. The problem with Season 2 is that after you find out who killed Laura Palmer there was very little left of the series to care anything about.

The S2 of Twin Peaks is a waste of time. Just shell out the money for the phenomenal complete series release, which was remastered with Lynch's input.

Re: Big Lots Part 9 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Went to the local BigLots (that usually has the most DVDs) yesterday, their supply is starting to dwindle (only 3 big floor-standing cardboard displays of the same old stuff instead of 4 & 5), they got one little box in (sitting all by its lonesome on top of one of the floorstanding displays) which took me 30 seconds to peruse and discover (GASP!) nothing that I don't already have. I guess they're trying to get rid of the old stuff (that nobody wants) before they get new stuff in. Dammit. -kd5-

^I wish they'd sell out here and put new stuff on the floor.
They put out almost a full pallet of $3 DVDs about a week ago - 95% restock. There are now 3 of $3 titles, 2 of $5 titles, and the wire rack with 1/3 $10 TV seasons, 1/3 $6 multi-movie "sets", and the rest an assortment of $3-$5. I've not picked up a new title at BL since just before Christmas. I'm starting to go through withdrawal...
But it appears they are getting ready to do inventory as there is white inventory counter/stickers/flags everywhere. If that's the case there may be more "new" stuff go to the floor when they've completed that process.
