Thanks for the response. Yeah, I've seen it cheaper at MovieStop ($18.99 for S1, $22.99 for S2) but the county "luxury" -and- state sales tax just kills any good deals (came out to around $49 total for both). I'd consider $41-42 a steal for both and I'm not one to press my luck.

When does this sale end? I haven't seen it posted herein, and my stupid Blackberry (my online tether to online civilization in my hodunk-podunk current residence) won't let me access anything on BNs website that might have the end date.

I'll appreciate it.

I believe it ends on the 30th(Monday). I asked a CSR in store. Some of the sale items are online only. I'm not sure what is actually on sale in store as I'll go to a BN this week. I asked on the phone and The Silent Partner, Killing Zoe and L'Appartament are only on sale online(could be more--those were the dvds I was interested in).

When I browsed in-store a couple of weeks ago I noticed that a majority were WB titles, whereas online it seems to be mostly Lionsgate (which The Silent Partner, Killing Zoe and L'Appartament are).

Well.

The Man Who Would Be King turned out to be one of the old-style "flipper" discs, which means 1/2 of the movie is on one side of the disc, the other 1/2 is on the other side. Not pleased with this development.

Blow Up is out of stock, and B&N has cancelled my order for it. Not pleased with this development, but I may re-order.

B&N has failed to impress me once again.

Hi everyone,

As for the releases with the cool padded covers are the following sets: Catherine Deneueve, Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren. Alain Delon was a case as with Angelique. May make one more purchase for the Guiness set.

August 30th.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl S.1 & 2 are $12.49 each before additional discounts. I didn't think it would be my cup of tea, but I really enjoyed the show. I'd recommend a blind buy at this price.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. My co-workers recommended Secret Diary a while back, and it's been sitting in my Netflix queue for months. At that price, I might as well pick it up.

August 30th.

Just a note- I have been seeing the Catherine Denueve Set at Half Price Books for awhile now. I picked mine up there for 9.95

$40 @ 50% off = $20 - 10% members' discount - $5 printable coupon = $13

Warner desperately needs to do something with this John Huston classic. A BD would be good or at least a DVD with the movie all on one side.

I'd like to see Criterion license it, if only because I've become addicted to their extras and Connery, Caine, Plummer and (I think) Jaffery are all still alive so they could conceivably contribute interviews to a new release. This is really a film deserving of the Criterion treatment.

The After Dark Horrorfest 4 collection is $59.99, or $50.99 with a 15% coupon. Hmm...are the films good enough to justify a purchase this low? :-)
